Wolf 3.0

Overture

This story combines two genres . 

(1) The dog who becomes a wolf, and

(2) A full-press medium-size dystopic science fiction epic.

Subjects

1. Wolves

--Only couple who are both alphas ( new version of concept ) and heads of packs can mate

--Above is not well known, found out about it and thought "drama!"

--Wolf preserve in NJ, recently visited and got the full tour

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a lone wolf. The wolf pack is a complex hierarchical society; my master would say it's like a very high-energy (at least during the hunt) human workplace. Everybody has a role in the pack.

2. Shamanism – 3 perspectives

--Ancient/indigenous throughout world, originated in Siberia, Yaqui version referenced by Carlos Castaneda's book series ("Don Juan" ( not the lover ), peyote, etc. in the sixties ) 

--Modern– there is a wolf preserve near LA that is also a therapy center for troubled youth, have read their book "Wolf Connection"

--sci fi/pop-entertainment/fan fiction – actually does reference time travel, telepathy, shapeshifting as part of plot stories

3. The Huichoi

--Indigenous Mexican people, like the Yaqui shamanistic, also legally practicing with peyote

4. The Duke of Talleyrand

--Not well known in the USA: Napoleon's brilliant, unscrupulous diplomatic second-in-command, similar to in our time Henry Kissinger, Dick Cheney, and Roger Stone. Can be described as a 19th century political architect of empire. Good article in Wikipedia.

Cast of Characters

Talleyrand (narrator) – Standard poodle who is magically transformed into a wolf and taken into the future.

Master– Talleyrand's master in place/time of origin.

Joe Diego– IT graduate who is recruited (50 years into the future) as one of the founding partners for a mysterious franchise startup applying alien technologies of telepathy, shape-shifting, and time travel. Has a mysterious past and an alternate name reflecting his origins.

Rory Chan Miller – Silicon Valley tech/business whiz and other founding partner also recruited for same.

Mentor –male breeding head of pack of genetically enhanced wolves in the orbiting research and development labs of the now fully grown franchise startup, Hand of Time. Joe and Rory Chan Miller are now billionaires.

Cassandra – female breeding head of same pack, who has been prototyped with special powers as part of the Wolf 3.0 development project.  The original Cassandra was the sister of Paris and Hector and princess of Troy.

Hunter – hunter specialist for same pack, recruited from another pack by Cassandra.

Yearling – eldest cub of Mentor and Cassandra, currently being trained by Hunter. On the spectrum.

Younger One - younger cub of Mentor and Cassandra.

Carola—A minor character who turns out to be major.
