When she woke up she felt like she was drowning. No memory of what happened to her or her life. She sat up and started to and started to cough out all the water that was in her mouth. She continued to spit it out when she looked up to see her surroundings.
There were boxes stacked one on top of the other. She stood up and noticed that she was in a metal cage trapping her in the darkness. She walked over to a wall starting to bang on it hoping someone could hear her. "Hey! Some help me!". She continued to scream over and over again in the hope someone was listening to her.
It was after about two minutes of her banging on the metal making her hands become bloody when the cage started to move up. It was moving up fast as bright lights would shine every now and again. She sat back down and huddled up into a corner thinking that it would smash into the top.
She closed her eyes and waited for whatever was going to happen. The box was going after and after each second until it stopped. She opened her eyes while watching someone's doors from the other side.
She did the first thing that came to mind and saw a shiny object on the floor of the cage. She picked it up, for it to be a knife, and waited to see who was out there. The person opened up the other half of the door to see what was in the cage.
A boy with sandy hair jumped down in the box to make Lucy move back against the wall and hold up the knife in a defensive position. The cage was small and so was she so when he looked around he could see her.
"What do you see?". A young boy's voice called out while he moved the boxes to look for the girl. 'I don't see-'. He cut himself off when he moved the box away from the girl, making her show her face. She was scared there was no doubt about it and he could see. "A girl". The boy finished what he was saying.
"No way".
"Dibs".
"Come one man".
"No fair".
She looked up to see that everyone that surrounded her was male. Teenage boy. Not a single girl was to be seen. The boy who was in the cage with her moved closer to her getting her attention. She snapped her head back towards him and held the knife up to him.
He held his hand up in surrender not wanting her to hurt him and for her to calm down. "I'm not going to hurt you". He started to speak. "None of us is. You can put the knife down". She looked up at him then at everyone who surrounded her and dropped the knife.
Her long red hair covered the metal that was attached to her so no one could see it. "Let me help you out". The boy said while putting out his hand for her to take. She hesitantly took it and he helped her up. He helped her get out of the box and she was laid on the ground. Her eyes widened as all the boys towered over her.
'Step back. Give the greenie a little space'. The blonde boy that helped her out was saying and they did so. She sat up and looked at everyone, still not saying a word. Lucy then got up on two feet turned around and ran toward the woods and had to get away from everyone. "We got a runner!". One of the boys called out, making her turn back around to see them.
She continued to run head into the woods to get away from everyone. Her red hair blew in the window as she ran. She got her away through the woods stepping on sticks making them snap as she ran. She stopped running when she came to a wall, it had vines on it and looked old. Her eyes widened as she took a step back to look up to see where the wall ended. It was a long way up and Lucy considered climbing it to get away.
She didn't though. She put her back up against the wall and slid down putting her knees up to her chest. She was scared and didn't understand what was happening. Lucy was laying next to a river so she picked up some rocks and threw them in. It was calming her down. She was still scared but throwing the rocks in the water was making her happy.
"Hey, you alright?". She looked up to see the boy who helped her out stranded next to another dark-skinned boy. She looked up at them and then went back to throwing the rocks into the water as she has never seen them.
They walked over to her and they both sat on each side of her while she continued to do what she was doing until she ran out of rocks to throw. "Hi I'm Alby and this is Newt". The dark-skinned boy turned his head towards her while she stayed quiet. "Don't talk do you?".
"I do talk, just not in the mood to". She started to play with her fingers instead while looking straight ahead. "Can you tell us your name?". The blonde boy on the other side makes her turn to meet his brown eyes with her green ones. "Lucy". She smile at him while she fully calmed down.
"It's nice to meet you greenie". Alby told her making her turn her head and look at him like he was an idiot. "Are you unable to listen to what I have to say? My name is Lucy".
"I like you". He told her while she got up and walked away back out to where she ran from.
She walked back through the woods while the two boys followed her talking about the girl. She walked back out through the woods to see four large walls keeping her and the others inside. She walk around in a circle as panic was going to hit her again. There were doors that lead to an opening somewhere.
She turned back around to the two boys making them stop talking. "What is this place?". She asked. 'Welcome to the Glades'. Alby told her while a taller boy walked up to them making Lucy stare at him. "See you found the greenie".
"Meet Lucy". Newt smiled which made her warm and smile with him.
"Green bean this it Gally". Alby told her making her lick her lips and look back at the boy. She moved her hair out of her face making Gally widen his eyes. "What?". Newt questioned him making the two boys behind her stand in front to see what he was looking at.
"What's that?". Newt questioned her pointing at a spot on her neck.
She put her hand on her neck to feel that there was a cool metal circle on her. She started to freak out again, her breathing short and uneven. Why didn't no one else have something on her neck? She couldn't remember how it got there or why it was even there. When she tried to remember she realises she couldn't remember anything before being in that cage.
Newt came up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her. "Get off me". She snapped at him shaking his hand off her and making him step back. "Hey, everything's going to be okay". Ably told her trying to calm Lucy down and it was working she frowned turning to the walls that were open to see some people running out.
"What are they doing? Why can't I remember anything? Why are we here? What's-".
"You need to calm down I'll give you a tour and I can answer your questions then". Alby told her while he gestured for her to follow him.
