Flashbacks + Third Person POV
In a small cracking voice, Hai Kuan left the room. Li Yang who has no idea what to do took a glance at the bed. There sat Yibo looking so emotionless and broken. What Yibo said next hurts Li Yang more than anything.
'Zhou Li Yang... I'm sorry to involve you in this mess of mine... I hope this doesn't break our friendship, now that we're engaged...' Yibo said in a flat tone and with dull eyes.
'W-what? B-but Yibo why ?' Li Yang asked as she walked closer to the bed, eyes glossing with tears.
'I've been thinking since the last few months during college, it's nice to finally be engaged. But forgive this state of mine...' Yibo continued to talk.
'N-no Yibo, s-stop. T-this isn't you...' Li Yang cried as she hugs Yibo.
'What do you mean? Zhou Li Yang, it has been decided.' Yibo said again.
'No! Enough of this Wang Yibo! You don't talk like that! You love him! You love Xiao Zhan!' Li Yang cried louder until she felt something wet on her arms that was hugging Yibo's head.
'Z-Zhan... N-no, I left him. I can't be with him. We aren't meant to be. Zhan won't be happy with me. Father and the elders won't let Zhan be happy if he's with me. Zhan won't live a life...' Yibo finally let out his feelings and fears as tears ran down his face when he heard Zhan's name.
'Enough Yibo, don't say such things! Zhan loves you, you're his happiness! Me and Kuan He can see it! You two are meant to be together, you're each other's soulmates! Don't let your father or the elders prevent your love like this! It's your life, your love. You're in charge!' Li Yang cupped Yibo's face and dug her words into Yibo's head.
'But I can't do anything to fight for our love! I'm weak! Zhou Li Yang I can't make him happy if I'm weak!' Yibo cried harder.
'Yibo....'
*Flashback Ends*
"Yibo, you don't have to apologize, it's understandable for you to feel this way. You're surprised, happy yet sad, and have these betrayal feelings. It's normal to feel this way. You've been through enough, Zhan as well. You two had gone through enough hell already. Just know that both I and Kuan Ge are here to help, not to make things worse between the two of you. It's Kuan Ge's mistake too, for not realizing Zhan's presence here, also mine for not being able to keep track of Zhan's life. We're sorry for this meeting."
Li Yang comforts the crying Yibo with reassuring words and gently pats his head. Li Yang knows just how bad this meeting had strolled with Yibo's state. Because it's also affecting her as Yibo's best friend and Hai Kuan as Yibo's brother.
"B-but what I said hurt you both, even Kuan Ge hit me for getting overboard..." Yibo leaned into Li Yang's hug as he cried.
Yibo's feeling guilty because it's not for him it's not his place to go and get angry. His brother and best friend had done their best, Yibo, he can't just rant over the fact that they didn't know Zhan's working for his company. Some things even for them it's beyond their reach of help. He should've talked it out as a family not to went overboard.
"No, Yibo listen. It's not your fault alright? It's ours and true that your words hurt us, but it's normal due to your situation. So don't blame yourself and cry like a baby. This Yibo looks like a cute kitten." Li Yang teased Yibo, this is her way to cheer up Yibo, especially when he's in this state.
"I'm not cute." Hearing the word cute, gives Yibo a bit of laughter, though he still puffs his cheeks, pouting.
"The, where's the Yibo who claimed to be a Lion ?" Li Yang chuckled, letting go of Yibo's hug, still patting his head.
