Day eleven
Tuesday
It was already 1pm and Allison was still in her bedroom. James worried a little and walked up to her door. Just when he wanted to knock on it, she opened the door.
"What the fuck, James!" Allison scolded breathlessly, her hand hovering above her chest where her heart was beating really fast.
"I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to ask if you want to join me for lunch?" James asks softly.
"Sure." She replies while making a low ponytail.
"Are you feeling better?" James asks as they walk to the kitchen together.
"I am the therapist here, I should ask these questions." She replies playful as she jumps on one of the chairs around the dining table.
James saw back the light in her eyes that she lost yesterday. He was happy to see her back as the confident woman she is and he also missed their playful conversations.
"Well at least because of your smile I can tell you're feeling better."
"Did you think about doing another session?" Allison asks curiously, changing the topic.
James always loved to see the excitement in her eyes when she talked about her job. James could tell she loves her job and that she is damn good at it.
"Yeah I thought about it.." He waited for the curiously in Allison's eyes, giving her full attention before he continued, "I will do a second session tomorrow, if you tell me about your nightmares."
Allison's smile dropped and she felt a knot in her stomach. She knew if she would tell him about the nightmares that he would be unhappy with himself and push her away again. She couldn't lie either, because he has always been honest towards her. And she knows how important it is to have a second session with him.
James knows exactly how to be in control of these situations over and over again, palming Allison always in.
"Why do men always need something in return?" Allison wonders out loud while rolling her eyes.
James knew she would say yes, she would do anything to help him. So he decided not to answer her question and let her rethink the situation.
"You really don't want to know what my nightmares are about.." She admits honesty, chewing at the inside of her lip.
"Why not?" James asks, confused.
"I don't want to hurt your feelings.." She whispers.
First, James didn't understand what she meant and looked with a confused face at her. But then the pieces came together. I almost choked her. He almost took her life. That's also the reason why she reacted so cold towards him when he tried to help her last night.
