Victoria had spent the next couple days at the Manor, thankful that it was Chilton's winter break. With the state her father is in and what Logan told her about Tristan, she was more stressed out than she has ever been.Logan had not left Victoria's side since the day he overheard Tristan. Once he showed up at the Vanderbilt Manor, he stayed, "I brought you some tea," Logan hummed as he walked back into Victoria's room.
She was curled up on a loveseat that was sat in front of her floor to ceiling bookshelf. Her eyes left the book she was reading at the sound of Logan's voice. Reaching out for the cup of tea, Logan handed it to her, "Thank you," she smiled.
Logan had been thinking for days on a way to get Victoria out of the Manor. He hadn't come up with something until one of his close friends called him about a party.
"Do you remember Collin?" Logan began, sitting next to Victoria. She nodded her head in response, "Well he's back in town for the Holidays and he's throwing a party tonight."
Victoria didn't say anything, instead she kept her attention towards her book.
"Cmon, Tor, you need to do something other than sit in your room in read," Logan pleaded, "I care about you and I miss seeing you happy. I promise you'll have the best time tonight, and if you don't, we can come back here and I'll read to you."
Victoria thought over Logan's idea before agreeing to go, she genuinely did miss having fun. And she knew if Logan was there, everything would be alright.
The environment of the party was familiar to Victoria as they walked into the large manor. Collin McCrae's grandparents were from a wealthy town a dozen or so miles outside of Hartford. Him and Logan became close friends a couple years back when their fathers got in business together.
In the McCrae Manor, the lights were dimmed and the music was able to be heard from all rooms. Victoria's arm was linked loosely with Logan's while they found their way to where Collin usually was: on the back patio, drinking. Victoria saw a few familiar faces, but most of the crowd was older college kids.
The breeze sent a chill down Victoria's back once they walked through the back door and onto the patio. There Collin was, sitting on an outdoor couch surrounded by many guys and just a few girls.
"Huntzberger!" Collin shouted once he saw his friend. The two conversed in a quick gentleman's hug before Collin handed Logan a glass of whiskey, "And Victoria. A pleasure to see you again!"
"You too, Collin," she smiled sweetly as he placed a friendly kiss on her forehead and gave her a hug. Victoria had always been fond of Collin, he was always kind towards her.
Collin pulled away from the hug, "A martini for the lady?" He asked her.
"Vodka, please."
"One Vodka Martini coming up!" Collin shouted, clearly having had a couple drinks already. He quickly made the martini and handed it to Victoria where she sat next to Logan.
For a while, Victoria stayed out on the patio with Logan while he talked to his friends. She wasn't against coming to the party, but the whole reason Logan wanted her to come was so she stopped sitting around.
After finished off the last of her third drink, she grabbed Logan's hand and dragged him inside. The guys from outside were hollering things like 'be safe!', 'use protection', and 'don't break anything'. Victoria rolled her eyes, only wanting to dance with her friend.
She was feeling tipsy by now, which explained to her the sudden urge to dance, "You seem to be having fun," Logan talked loudly over the loud music. Victoria nodded her head in return, not bothering to try and talk over the noise.
The two slowly danced to the upbeat song. Victoria set the pace and Logan went along with whatever she felt comfortable with. He watched the girl that danced with her eyes closed in front of him. The smile on her face warmed Logan's heart, she was happy again.
"I love this song!" Victoria cheered as Say My Name by Destiny's Child came over the speakers, "Say my name, Say my name. If no one if around you, say baby I love you." The way Victoria slid her finger down Logan's chest while singing the lyrics made his heartbeat quicken.
He knew she meant nothing of it, but looking at Victoria now, could make Logan fall to his knees. Her long blonde hair bounced around as she danced to her favorite song. Her simple short, black dress, though was similar to the other girls, made her stand out.
She was beautiful, and Logan couldn't help but think that.
"I need to pee!" Victoria laughed as the next song began playing. The alcohol in her system was finally getting to her.
Logan snaked his arm around her waist, "I'll walk you there," He said before pulling them through the crowd of people still dancing. Even though Victoria wasn't exactly drunk, she was intoxicated. And the with college guys at this party, Logan knew to take every precaution to make sure Victoria was safe.
"My hero," the girl smiled once they made it to the nearest bathroom. She walked inside while Logan waited outside the door, eyeing every guy that that saw his friend go in there alone.
"You are in deep, man," Collin said, coming up behind Logan, "You're wrapped around that girls finger."
Logan wasn't sure what to say to Collin. He still had Honor's words stuck in the back of his head, and she would always be right. But Victoria made Logan want to be a better man. To be better at commitment.
