A few hundred million years ago...
*Beep Beep Beep*
Sounds screamed out across the planet sending everyone into mass panic. They had been fully prepared for what was about to happen, but it is indeed different when it actually happens. Shrill skwarks where omitted by every creature, slightly from hysteria and partly as a warning for others.
A telepathic race of creature comes with its drawbacks, as it would suggest no ears or mouths. However somehow that is not what had developed here. Telepathic yes, but they still had to be able to listen out for dangers and they also had to communicate quickly.
And there stands an original Secaro.
In organised chaos they make their ways to the nearest hub, ready for transport to the planet they would now be calling home. A large number already lay in wait there, having lived many a generation - but some chose to remain on Earth until its final moment.
Well, final moment here meaning a hundred or so years until the acid cloud engulfed the place. It was on a set course, passing across Earth for several cycles and nobody could survive.
Evacuation was now because the outer layer of cloud was about to touch the atmosphere, and there was just enough time for the hubs to exit before the planet would feel its effects.
Maybe some day, Earth would be habitable again - but that day was a long way off. The new planet, named after what they called themselves, was much like the old one, but bigger and brighter. They had a feeling they may never want to leave again...
Despite the situation, the Secaro where an intelligent race and still held a soft spot for what they once called home. This lead to an annual check-up, keeping an eye on what was now of the forsaken planet.
It was a fascinating sight, seeing a new humanoid creature crop up from the waste (over millions of years of course). But this wasn't to last long as they soon found out when the creatures became cannibalistic and devoured themselves into oblivion.
Another 80 million years or so later was when 'Sluppi' existed - named so because of their innocence and distinct lack of killer instinct or need for survival. When the going got tough and water was sparse, they just weren't intelligent enough to keep the species alive.
The peeping eye continued, watching several different fascinating scenarios pan out. Sometimes nothing would happen for an unusual amount of time, sometimes things got really weird, and every so often humanoid gems would shine out - though none quite as intelligent as the Secaro.
Not until 'the human race'.
This was a creature unlike any that fell before it. Intelligent, instinctual, passionate, caring, killer. You name it, they were it.
Maybe one day when the humans begin to question their planet and start searching the stars, it would be possible to communicate with them. But not until then for fear of frightening them. They weren't ready for that yet.
Not until that invention came along that is.
They dawning of curiosity had certainly arisen, inventions galore. They even realised what came before them with the discovery of Dinosaurs - poor creatures didn't know what hit them.
But the latest discovery/invention - call it what you will - now that was a mistake. A mistake which could wipe the planet from existence. A mistake which the Secaro felt the need to correct.
It would have been so easy for the Secaro to go to planet Earth at any one point. Their technologies were unbelievable, and they had hubs which had brought them from the planet in the first place. It would be no hassle to use the hubs to go back to Earth.
However, intervening was never their intention and they preferred to just watch. But the humans, they were about to destroy everything and the Secaro just couldn't let that happen. Ready or not, they were about to return home and nothing could stop them.
Of course, the Secaro did not arrive for a social visit, and intended to disrupt the planet as little as possible - leaving when the time came for the next big disaster. A sort of martial law was put in place, for the humans own benefit of course, and the Secaro decided it best to keep things formal. The less they knew the better.
The invention was destroyed and quickly forgotten about by the humans, and thankfully so. This would have been the perfect point in time for the Secaro to leave but they just couldn't risk it happening all over again - and if they had to intervene again, well the humans may be a little more prepared that time.
And if they were honest, the Secaro had found themselves somewhat attached to the humans, although they could never reveal this. There was just something familiar about Earth that made them want to stay, and humans were indeed a spectacle to behold.
So now we were at the present, and Jaxenayo had just revealed everything to Izander. It might be a little more clear why Izander was so speechless!
Finding out a master race saved themselves, watched over the planet, decided to swoop in and save your dumb asses and stick around until the next chapter - well it may just make you speechless too.
