Izander

Jax was back to ignoring me again. I understand we needed to keep some distance but this was crazy. No matter what was going on, it seemed to be one step forward, two steps back with him. Did he regret kissing me? I hoped not but I just couldn't be sure. I wanted to be careful not to cause any suspicion but he wouldn't even have a friendly chat with me in the corridors.

'Hey Jax' I shouted as we passed each other.

'Sorry Izander, I have to... er, go.' He was about to run away but I caught him by his arm. He is not running away.

'Right, that's it. You, me and the sparring mat after the next shift. No excuses.' He can have it my way or no way at all. I wasn't going to put up with this and the sparring mat was a stroke of genius if I am honest.

'Ok. I can allow it.' Jax seemed so cold. Maybe he really did regret that kiss...

The time came and I waited. He was 10 minutes late which had already got me riled up. Even though he was taller than me, I think my annoyance will have made up or that. Plus, humans don't get to be part of a flight crew just out of luck, you do have to have a certain physical ability. Put it this way - I wasn't exactly scared.

'You're late.' I stated.

'Well I am the Captains First Mate, I do have things to do when I am off shift, unlike a lowly navigator.' That's it. He had me fully worked up now. There was no stopping me.

I grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him down onto the mat. I don't think he was expecting it but he regained himself quickly and jumped up. It was most definitely on. We started circling the mat, but being shorter worked in my advantage as I ducked his first attempt to take me down.

I swung for his left left shoulder but missed. This was going to be tough, I thought as he swung back and missed. I had to change tactics, but how? I stopped circling and stood very still. He was surprised by this but took the bait and went for me. I grabbed his outstretched arm and twisted it so that he had to twist with it. His back was now facing me with his arm pinned tightly against it.

'Well played.' I loosened my grip a little, not expecting him to speak at that moment, and he took the opportunity to wriggle free. I hadn't really thought of how to tackle him down anyway from that position without really hurting him. You weren't supposed to cause pain or injury during these frendly spars and I would have.

He got ready to start circling again so I followed suit, but this must have been his plan as he launched straight into an attack, my right shoulder taking a hard blow, making me wobble a bit before regaining my balance.

I took the opportunity to jump up and launch into a punch to his chest, but he was just as quick and came forward with a punch of his own. We both ended with a fist to the chest and both fell backwards, nearly stumbling off the mat.

There was no time to regain ourselves properly as we went straight in for another blow. My left fist grazed over his left shoulder as he was bending back to avoid a collision. At the same time, his fist and my body mimicked his position.

We both spun out of this position and I swung my leg round, getting him in the back of his knees. He dropped to the floor, grabbing at my leg on his way down sending me tumbling on top of him. I put out my arms to steady myself, but he grabbed me and flipped me over - starting to wrestle in the process.

I could feel my crotch pressed up against his and it took all my effort to draw those thoughts away from me. It would have been just terrible if I got hard right now. It was kind of hot though, tackling with a very sexy and determined Jax.

He currently had my arms pinned above my head, and I had wrapped my legs around his waist trying to flip him with my whole body. I rocked us a little and slipped a hand out from his vice-like grip, pushing his shoulder back onto the mat. This left him in a vulnerable position, so I swung myself on top of him and pinned his own arms down.

If we were alone right now, there is no doubt I would just ravage him right now. But we were in a room full of other people sparring so I kept my thoughts as innocent as possible - it was proving very difficult however.

For a moment our eyes connected and I started inching my face towards his, very slowly. The fight had gone out of us and my grip was loosening but he didn't try and take advantage of that, he just kept staring.

'I surrender. You win. I must go now.' What?! Jax was resigning and wanted to leave. Was he now repulsed by me? Confused, I rose up and pulled him to him feet. 'Goodbye Izan.' My heart sunk inside my chest, he really didn't want me any more and not even this fight could fix our friendship it seemed.

Before he left, he grabbed my hand to shake it. 'Good match' he spoke, and then he did something so out of character I thought I was imagining it. He winked. Why on earth would he do that if he didn't want me any more? Then it dawned on me, maybe he did still want me and was feeling just as hot-under-the-colour as I had been.

Call me crazy but I felt like I had just been given an invitation to follow him, and that I did. He had already made his way out of the doors, so I calmly walked out of the room, then as soon as the doors closed, broke into a speed-walk guessing the direction he must have gone in - probably his cabin.

Every time someone came into view, I slowed down to a normal pace, but sped right up as soon as they were out of sight. How had I not caught up with Jax by now? I began second guessing my judgement believing myself to have been so wrong about him wanting me to follow him.

I found my way to his cabin and stood outside for a short while, trying to look as casual as possible. Should I make myself known outside? I am insane - if I did knock on and he was there, he would probably report me for insanity. I can't do it.

After a minute or two of internal ponder, I turned around to walk away from his door. I took a deep breath, picked up my right foot to start walking and a hand grabbed mine, pulling me backwards.
