Chapter 34

Winner... sort of....

"Weiss!" Jaune shouted in fright.

The world stood still as they all stared at the white haired huntress's fallen form, before Jaune stumbled to his feet and ran over to her side.

"Shit...." Lupin muttered in shock.

Oscar in anger, swatted Leo in the face with the cane, in his surprise Leo took the hit before falling down the stairs and into the large buff man. Lupin blinked only to be yanked away by Oscar and over to Ruby who was knocked out face down.

"Ruby, get up!" Oscar called dropping down on his knees next to her. "Get up! We need you!"

"Red now isn't exactly the time for a nap you know." Lupin hissed looking around at their enemies.

Leo in the mean time was grabbed by the collar and lifted into the air by the buff man. "You're lettin' that boy make a fool of you."

"That's not just a boy." Leo argued grabbing at the man's hand. "That's Ozpin! He's already reincarnated!" Lupin lowered himself into a fighting stance as the man turned to the group. "Ozpin..."

A small noise of consciousness came from behind Lupin making him look and let out a small breath seeing Ruby was awake now.

"Ruby! You-" Oscar started but was cut off by a loud shout.

"OZPIN!!!!" The tall buff man let out a low growl. "You thought you could hide from me!?" He then began to rip off his jacket, and pulled out 4 light dust crystals. "You'll pay for what you did....You'll die, over and over again!" Then without hesitation, he jabbed the crystals into his elbows. Lupin flinched at the moment before recovering and preparing for a fight once more.

Letting out a loud scream, the man looked ready to fight, however Oscar was slowly backing away in fear. Green eyes looked over to Heterochromic ones. "Do-do we fight?"

"Unless you wanna die, yes." Lupin said casually.

The tall man lunged at Oscar, almost running him over if Lupin hadn't intervene taking some of the hit, and Qrow grabbed Oscar and got him out of the way.

Lupin lands with a painful thump on the ground some distance away. He flinched shaking his head as he stood up. "Ouch... damn, that guy hits like a truck..."

"Ozpin is here...." Cinder growled.

"Is that a problem?" Raven questioned walking over.

"I'm not sure..." Cinder murmured thoughtfully. "But right now, we've got the upper hand. Let's not waste it."

"Leo!" Raven shouted to the headmaster. "Open the path to the vault!"

Lupin frowned at that only to hear a clash of weapons. Looking over he found Qrow doing his best to keep Oscar out of harms way and keep the truck like man at bay. He looked over to see Yang fighting a bunch of copies of Mercury as well as Emerald, Jaune and Ren were trying to save Weiss, finally Nora was over by Ruby who seemed to still be trying to get conscious.

"How did it come to this?" Lupin grumbled.

"Lupin!" Nora shouted. "Stop them!"

"Already on it!" Lupin called running where the statue was lowering to the vault. However, Lupin's travels was cut short when he heard Oscar's opponent speak up.

"He didn't tell you my tale, did he, boy? I thought you looked familiar, to think that evil was inside." He thumped over to stand over Oscar. He clenched his hands together and lifted the branch like arms over his head. "Your blood won't be on my hands, it'll be on his."
