A New Adventure

"So, I introduced myself." Lupin said arms crossed as he looked over the boy before him. Dirty white button up shirt, brown pants, orange gloves, and splatter colored rag sticking out of his pocket. No weapons in sight. "Who are you?"

"O-Oscar." The boy said nervously.

"I see." Lupin smirked. "Can I ask why an unarmed boy is wandering around these Grimm infested woods?"

"I-I'm not-" the boy Oscar started.

"Oh? And all those Grimm were after... A rabbit?" Lupin chuckled leaning forward into his personal space. "And why aren't you fighting back?"

"We-" Oscar tried again, only for Lupin to step back and hold up a hand.

"Ah-ah!" Lupin argued. "Let me change the question." Lupin smirked chuckling. "Have you fought a Grimm before?"

"S-Small Ones..." Oscar said nervously. "That attacked my home once and a while."

"Ah, I see, so... Why'd you leave your home then?" Lupin asked tilting his head, his hair falling over his shoulder.

"J-just heading to Minstral." Oscar said stiffening.

"Be weary Oscar. Lupin may seem alright now, but do be careful what you say." A voice told the farm boy.

"Minstral, well that means you're gonna want to go to the train station." Lupin chuckled and pointed in a direction. "And you're headed in the wrong way." Lupin smirked. "Since you seem to be attracting Grimm from all over, I'll accompany you there." Lupin chuckled. "Follow along." Lupin turned hands clasp behind his back.

"Wh-why are you-" The boy started.

"Simple, you're a fool for trying to travel through here alone." Lupin said turning around and tilting his head. "And I'd be guilty of neglect if I let a child like you run around here without a guardian. Besides" Lupin smirked a bit, his eyes glowing. "I know the way."

"A-Alright..." Oscar agreed slowly before following the boy with violet hair.

The sun began to set, and Lupin started a campfire. Oscar sat across from Lupin, his gaze staring at the fire.

Lupin poked at the fire for a moment before looking back over to the forest scowling.

"We'll continue on in the morning." Lupin said looking back at the boy. "We at least managed to get a little closer to the train station. So we should get there by tomorrow night."  Lupin looked back not hearing a reply only to find the boy still staring at the fire. "Did you hear me?"

"Shut up!" Oscar suddenly hissed causing lupin to narrow his eyes.

"Excuse me?" Lupin asked narrowing his eyes.

Oscar looked over at him blinking. "No-No not you!" Oscar argued shaking his head. "I mean-"

Lupin's eyes widened before quickly moving over to Oscar's side. "Hey! Hey! Whatever you're hearing it's not real."

"What are you-" Oscar started, only for Lupin to squeeze his hand.

"Me, I'm real, whatever you're seeing or hearing isn't." Lupin said worry evident in his eyes.

"Lupin is talking of his own experiences, what he is worried about is not the same." The voice spoke to Oscar.

"Are you back with me?" Lupin asked Heterocromic eyes the only thing in Oscar's vision asked.

"Y-yeah..." Oscar said nervously pulling his arms out of Lupin's. "Sorry."

Lupin smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry about it. I've gone through that enough, so Apologies aren't needed." Lupin shifted and leaned back against his arms. "A warning would have been nice though. If I'd know I would have helped before." Lupin then stretched. "So, I recommend you get some sleep, we've got a long day of walking tomorrow."

"R-right..." Oscar said. "Do-Do you want me to-"

"Nope, no watches." Lupin titled his head with a smirk. Both of his eyes turning into a bright orange. "I'll keep watch myself. So you'll be able to sleep like a baby because I'll take care of any threats that appear. Okay?"

Oscar nodded before laying on his back, and Lupin stood up before jumping over to a low hanging branch in the tree, his legs hanging off the branch.

"G-Goodnight..." Oscar called.

"Nighty Night." Lupin sang from where he was.

The next day, Lupin lead the way through the forest, Oscar keeping close to the boy with violet hair. They easily made it to the train station, only coming across a small problem when the rain started to poor and a thunderstorm rolled in.

"There." Lupin said pointing to the building appearing out of the rain. "You're carriage awaits." Lupin shuffled through his back pocket before producing a card. "Some Lein for you."
"N-N-NO I couldn't! You've done enough for me already I can't-" Oscar started arguing,  but Lupin held up his hand.

"The only reason I'm doing this is because as I said before." Lupin smirked. "Cause I'm being a proper adult, and not neglecting a friend in need." Lupin pushed the card into his hands. "'Sides I got no use for it." Lupin then turned Oscar around and pushed him more towards the train station. "Now then, do me a favor and get a move on. Your train car awaiting, Minstrel's awaiting, whatever you need to do there's awaiting."

"R-Right..." Oscar agreed.

"Good, nice meeting you, blablabla." Lupin said before stopping. "Hopefully I'll never see you around."

"Th-thanks!" Oscar said looking back. "For helping me."

Lupin nodded, before he ran off back into the forest.

"He seemed different then he was." The voice said as they ran over to the train station to get out of the rain.

Lupin disappeared into the forest only to stop. "Did I give him the right card?" He looked back and felt back into his pocket before he pulled out another card. "Er..... Oops... Wrong card...." Lupin paused and looked back seeming to think. "No, No he's fine...." Lupin shook his head as he continued walking. "He's fine..." Lupin paused before he ground his teeth.

"Is he really fine?" A voice asked making Lupin narrow his eyes looking back to find Jay, watching him with dull eyes.

"Of course he is!" Lupin hissed. "He may be young but he's fine."

"You took care of the grimm he was up against." Hazel pointed out.

"So what!?" Lupin ordered punching a tree. "He's heading to Minstral, so he's fine!"

"Is Minstral really safe?" Jay asked tilting his head.

"Why are you even here?" Lupin ordered narrowing his eyes. "You should be sleeping peacefully! I killed Ozpin!"

"We aren't here for that." Jay argued shaking his head.

"If not for that...." Lupin started his eyes widening.

"For you." Came the reply from the two, making Lupin's eyes widen.

"You are free..."

"Yet you feel you are not."

"Help them." The two ghosts pointed from where the boy was coming from.

"You were made for this reason."

"Huntsman."

"Savior."

"Hero."

"M-Me..." Lupin muttered before he tightened his fist before he took a breath, turning and running back towards the train station. ".....God damn it.... Why am I doing this?! Why am I throwing myself into this?! Why did I convince myself this was a good idea?!" Lupin laughed as he ran along. "You're so going to get it when I see you two again."
