I'd like to extend my gratitude to everyone who's been sending love and prayer. It's really appreciated. You guys keep me going.

Truthfully, I'm scared and I don't know what's going to happen from here onwards. It's really bad. I mean, like I wasn't affected badly, but looking at all those videos, I just get emotional. If you look at TikTok videos under #kznflooding, you'd see that it's literally traumatizing for most people.

Even as I'm writing this chapter, it's raining again. It's light rain, but I guess I'm still scared because I can't sleep.

I wrote this chapter to try and cheer myself up because you guys are giving me so much support. And your comments make laugh. So thank you so much...🥺💙

"Darren please..."

I looked at Darren as he continued to eye me sideways, no doubt trying to figure out why I'm doing this. I'd called him here because, unlike the others, I stand a good chance of getting the truth and whatever is going on around me.

"Tell me why you want this information," I sighed, looking away. Taking a seat in one of the available small couches. My phone vibrated in my hand but I ignored it.

"I'm about to make a deal with the father of that one bitch who harmed Luca," I murmured quiet enough so that Charles doesn't hear from across the room. "I saw their reaction," he turned to look at me. "Shaun and Luca. When I announced the partnership with the Bryon Film Industry, I saw their expressions. I didn't- I don't understand," I said quietly. "I need to know that, by doing this, I'm not sinking my sailing ship. I need to know that I'm not making a mistake. Darren I don't know if we can trust this man. He could be just as vile as his daughter,"

"He is," he let out with a sigh as he settled down as well. My eyes widened, though I quickly recovered. I nodded for him to carry on. "They're arch nemesis. Been rivaling for a long time now. The Prescott Company is stopping Sandy from reaching the top, since he's below Luca and Shaun," I bit back a smile, proud of my men. They did that through hard work and nothing but hard work and dedication. "Being a greedy man, he's conjured up ways to either overpower or wipe them off," my heart thudded at the news. "I think at some point it got personal," Darren said.

"Okay..." I drawled, wrecking my brain for a solution out of this. "What do I do?" I looked up at Darren. His brows shot up, surprised.

"You asking me? You're the boss here," I rolled my eyes.

"You got a brain, Darren. Use it and help me out," I said.

"I mean, it's quite obvious that you have to cut ties with the company," he began. I nodded. "It won't be easy though, I can tell you that much. Sandy likes to play dirty,"

"The apple didn't fall far from the tree, I figured," I groaned, slumping. "In order for me to take the monster out..." I trailed off, tapping the back of the phone. Darren eyed me with suspicion. "I'd have to be the bigger monster here," he sat back, reflecting on my words.

"I don't like the sound of that," he said, deflating whatever plan I'd hoped to conjure up. "I'm not going to tell you what to do. With the approach you seem to have chosen, things could get very ugly. You will be under a lot of pressure," I scoffed.

"Honey, I'm black," I said making him tip his head. "I exist under pressure. Anyway, my brain has already conjured up almost every scenario and outcome and I'm still standing by my decision, so..." he nodded, accepting my words.

"You're not scared of digging up other people's trash?" I shook my head. "Bloodshed?" I looked at him, my decision standing. "Jail?" Nope. His eyes narrowed as he held my gaze. "What about...death?" I blinked, looking away. He hummed to himself.
