"I am so sorry, Addy," I said hugging her. "I know I was meant to be there with you. I just...somethi-"

"Darren told me," she said rubbing my back soothingly. "How are you feeling?" She asked me as soon as she pulled back. "You look great. Better,"

"I am better," I said. "It wasn't anything serious, but apparently two mother hens think fainting is life threatening and won't let me go to work," I said yelling out the last part for Shaun and Luca to hear me. Shaun rose a brow. "So? How did it go?"

"Your friend...Ian? I think," she said leading me to sit with her away from the boys. "He was really nice and supportive, so I managed to give them my side of the story, since...well, now there's also my mom's side of the story," she said nodding with a smile. "Honestly, I feel a whole lot better. Like I-I'm getting somewhere with this. It's been haunting me for so long and I pushed everyone who cared away," her voice cracked. "I have you to thank. It wouldn't have been possible without you," she said tears brimming in her eyes. "So thank you, really," we hugged again.

"Anytime sweetie. You tell me if you need anything else. That's what friends are for, right?" I said with a smile.

"So, I found out that the story goes way back, way before Jonathan started harassing me. Apparently, my...mother suffered the same fate under the hands of my stepfather. She'd been gathering information over the years and I-I never noticed," I rubbed her back.

"Mom got married with Jonathan Senior and well...she thought she was marrying the love of her life. About three months into the marriage, he started abusing her. Reports says he'd put her in the hospital multiple times. It went on for years and she put it all on diary. Photos, diary entries. Blood stained clothing. She wanted to open a case against them eventually and she couldn't..." she heaved, looking up at the ceiling. "Because he killed her. My stepfather. I was told that it was staircase accident and I didn't get to see her body, but...Ian went to the morgue she was taken to and found records from the forensics autopsy shows fingerprints around her neck and bruises,"

"I don't get why though," I said with a frown. "Why would he go through all that trouble?"

"Abusers don't need a reason to hurt someone, Raven," she said wiping the tears from her cheeks. "And my mother had insurance money and she had saved for me. She's been gone for years and I haven't been told of my inheritance, so I think it's that," she said. "Ian thought so too. I mean, it was a good sum, according to the records,"

"Will you be able to get it back?" I asked. She shrugged. "It's your money, Addy. Your mother left it for you. You have to claim it back,"

"Ian said he's going to help me with that too," she said.

"Ian's really helpful and he's good at what he does. You can trust him,"

"Okay," she nodded with a smile.

"And...what about you? What's going to happen to the other Jonathan?"

"Well, I'd lied when I said I didn't have any evidence. I used to do Tik Tok videos when I was in varsity. I basically had a camera on me more times than I can count. I had two of them in my room and they recorded everything, so I gave them that...and the sheets from that night," I nodded. "I don't know if the sheets would still be helpful, but...Ian thought the video was enough. They also did a DNA test for Aaron. As of two days ago, they've been arrested with solid evidence," I clapped my hands together. "They're gone, Raven. And I get to have my baby," she smiled. "I don't know how I'm going to thank you for pushing me,"

"I believe everyone has been pushing you, Addy," I said.

"Yeah, I guess I just needed a strong woman by my side to remind me that women are the shit," she said making me laugh. "Honestly, I felt a lot safer having a woman by my side, so...from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You're my hero,"
