Camille's POVFor two months, Steve and I have been living in our own little world. Taking in each others presence, not wanting to let go of one another.
Last night though, I got a text from someone who I never thought I would ever speak to again. That someone was none other than Cara.
She texted me saying that she wanted to meet up for coffee so that I could explain my story in more depth. I was very surprised to even receive a text from her. I thought that she would hate me forever.
I was reluctant to agree, but I really did miss her. And Steve was okay with the whole meet up. He encouraged it actually.
So that's where I was on my way to right now, to see Cara for the first time after two months.
I was the first one to get to the coffee shop, so I ordered my coffee then took a seat next to a window. I waited for about five minutes before Cara showed up. I gave her a smile as she sat down across from me.
"Hi," I said nervously.
"Hey Cam," she spoke back. Awkward silence filled the air. "Okay this is really painful. I just want to start off by saying that I'm sorry for how I treated you. I shouldn't of kept you prisoner in my own house."
"Cara, I'm not mad at you," I said taking a sip. "I know you thought you were helping me even if you actually weren't."
"Speaking of.. can you please explain to me the whole Steve thing. Like how are you okay with that?"
"To be honest I'm not," I sighed. "But I love and trust Steve so I know that he would never hurt anyone else that I love, he learned his lesson."
"But you're okay with him.. killing people?" She asked whispering the last part.
"No, but he does a damn good job at hiding it so I sometimes forget he even does it. I've even convinced him to buy a new house for us so that I didn't have to live in the same place where everything goes down at."
"He loves me Cara, and he's trying for me. I know I'll never be able to make him change his ways, but he's better now. He's not as gruesome as before."
Cara had a look of thought on her face before returning her gaze back towards me. "I'm not going to turn him in or anything. If you can overlook it, then I probably can as well. But I'm still scared of him, and I'm scared I'll never be able to be around him."
"I'm not forcing you to be around him. I want you in my life Cara, I'll always make time for you no matter what."
"Fuck," she groaned. "I feel like I was such a bitch!"
"You were confused. Any sane person would've been, I'm just happy you actually wanted to sit down and talk."
"I'm just happy to have you back. It's fucking lonely without you," she laughed. "I'll eventually warm back up to him."
I was glad to have my girl back, that's for sure. "Enough about me.. what about you. You still seeing Liam?"
"Actually yeah I am, we're taking it slow though," she smiled.
"Well I know he makes you happy so that's good."
We talk for a good hour or so. It felt good to catch up with her. The conversation was long overdue, but I'm still very grateful it happen.
When I arrived back home, I couldn't find Steve anywhere. That was until I went into our room and saw him scrolling on his phone. I crawled up next to him and snuggled him.
"Hey," he said kissing my forehead, discarding his phone. "How was it?"
"It was good actually, she was really excepting."
"That's great!" He smiled. "I'm just glad you have her back now. You were really worried about it."
"It definitely stressed me out," I laughed. "Everything feels complete now."
