Camille's POV"Hey you, can I get a Rum and Coke," said the middle aged guy in front of the bar.
"Yes lemme just get that for you," I said as I quickly made the drink for the man. I work at a bar as a bartender. Which may not be the best job considering how old I am, but it pays well which is all I really care about. Also you can find some amusing people here which is always fun.
"Here you go!" I set the drink down for the guy and smiled before turning to the next request.
It was a Thursday night, and Thursdays are usually not busy at all. Tonight was no expectation. I was practically counting the minutes to leave.
"You look pissed."
"What the fuck?" I quickly looked up ready to bad mouth someone if I had to. "Jesus Christ Cara," I laughed. Of course my best friend would come into the bar just to say those words to me.
"What, it's true! What's got you so worked up," said Cara as she eyes the menu in front of her. "Oh and could you be the best and get me a margarita." I rolled my eyes and started to make the margarita in front of her.
"Nothing got me worked up, it's just dead in here. I mean look around! There are only three other people in here and they are no fun!" I groan as I hand Cara her drink.
"Yeah well that's why I'm here." Cara took a sip of her drink and started to look around the bar. "Oh you weren't lying there really is no one here. And no one cute either to hook you up with."
"Oh shut up I don't need to hookup with anyone."
"Then why do you always complain about people lonely and not having a boyfriend," said Cara as she raised her eyebrow at me.
"There is a major difference between a hook up and a boyfriend."
"Well in my book, they are all the same to me." That was the difference about me and Cara. She was willing to just have a one night stand and move on with her life, whereas I actually wanted to settle down with the right guy.
"I'm also working so," I said as I went to dry off a glass. Only twenty more minutes until closing.
"So mature."
"I try my best."
Once closing time hit I kicked everyone out of the bar, besides Cara of course, and started to clean up. I made Cara help which she obviously protested at but still did it.
"You never realize how gross bars are until you actually clean them," said Cara as we were putting the cleaning supplies away.
"Tell me about it, this isn't even that bad compared to the weekend," I said as I locked up the bar and started heading to my car. "You gonna come over to my house?" I turned back around to look at Cara.
"Can't, I have an interview in the morning." I stared at her dumbfounded. I could never live how she does.
"So you went to a bar instead of preparing for it?" I scolded.
"Hey, lighten up! You know how I roll," exclaimed Cara. "Plus I always get the job every time."
"Yeah well good luck."
"Thank you ma'am," said Cara as she saluted before turning away walking to her car.
The rest of the night was a blur. I was so tired from work that the second I got home I crashed. Honestly my life was pretty content right now, but I was in need of something, or someone, to spice it up a little.
