Steve's POV
I caught her as she broke down into my arms. My sweet girl, why did you have to do this. She kept repeating 'sorry' over and over again, and I knew she truly was, but she still betrayed me.
"I'm not going to hurt you," I whispered. "But you still broke my trust." She whimpered in my arms.
I picked her up and carried her to my room where I laid her down on my bed. I knew she needed to rest, and I wasn't about to put her back into her room. She's to vulnerable right now to do that. In the meantime, I'll just observe her.
Once she fell asleep, I sat next to her on the bed, watching as she breathed. Cam was really calmly to look at.
I almost feel asleep myself, but a buzz from my back pocket alerted me awake. I took out Cam's phone, which I always kept on me, and realized that she got a text from her friend Cara.
How's the trip going?
You never told me where you were going.
Hello?? Are you okay?I scrolled through there previous messages to get a feel of how Cam texted. Once I got it down, I replied.
Shoot sorry.
I've been very occupied but
Steve and I are in Cottage Grove.Cara replied back almost instantly.
Send me pictures please.
I sighed and left her on open. I was in no mood to scroll for a picture, I'll just make up some excuse as to way Camille didn't reply back earlier.
I knew I couldn't watch Cam forever, so after awhile I got up and went to the kitchen to clean up. We barely touched the food.
I eyed the meatball on my plate, it was practically untouched. I put it in a container, and left it in the fridge.
As I was cleaning up, I thought about what punishment to give Cam. Hurting her was a big no, but I still needed a way to put her in her place and remind her not to betray me again.
I eyed the meatball on my plate, it was practically untouched. I put it in a container, and left it in the fridge.
After I cleaned everything, I went back up to my room to check on Cam. I froze upon entering the door, she wasn't there.
"Camille?" I yelled out.
"In here!" I heard her shout from the bathroom. I sighed in relief and pushed the door open. She was washing the makeup off of her face.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked leaning against the door frame.
She dried her face and hesitantly looked up at me. "Uh, yeah I'm better."
"You know we are gonna have to talk."
"I know.." I held my hand out for her to take, and led her back into my room. I sat us down both on the bed so that we were comfortable.
"Do you remember what I said if you broke my trust?" I asked raising an eyebrow at her.
"That I'd have consequences." I could tell she was really nervous and it was breaking me inside.
"Right, but don't be scared I'm not going to hurt you in anyway. I want to protect you."
"Then what are you going to do?"
"Try a piece of the meat." I know I said I wouldn't force it upon her, but she needs to know why I do these things. Human taste a lot better than animals.
"Like a person?" She said in disbelief.
"Yes, I still have the meatball from earlier that I want you to try." I gave her a few moment to take everything in before continuing. "I know you want me and I know you don't want to truly hurt me. So if things go well I will give you more freedom."
She nodded her head and squeezed my hand that was still intertwined with me. "Okay.. I- I'll try it."
"Come along then." With our hands together, I led her back into the kitchen. I still have the knives out so if she really wanted to hurt me still, she couldn't.
I took it out of the fridge and pushed the container towards her. I grabbed us both a fork so that she wasn't doing this alone. "Don't think about it to much."
I took a piece off and held it to my mouth, waiting for her to do the same. Once she slowly took a bite, I put my share into my mouth. People would be delusional not to think that this taste good.
"What did you think?" I asked once she swallowed. She stared at the counter in shock. "Cam?"
"I feel sick," she stated. I rushed over to her and held her but she shrugged me off. "No, not like that. I just feel like I should hate what I just did, but it was surprisingly not that bad."
I smirked, never thought I'd hear her say those words. "If you never what to eat it again, that's fine. I just wanted you to try it."
She looked up at me and hugged me. "Thank you.. I know the situation we are in is difficult, but thanks for not hurting me."
I kissed the top of her head. "The second I saw you break down in that room, I knew I could never hurt you. You have nothing to worry about."
I held her face in my hands. "The night is still young, want to dance?"
"Sure," Cam said nodding her head at me. I turned on the radio that I always keep on my counter, and a romantic song started to play. I didn't know what song it was, but it was perfect.
We slow danced to the song, sinking into each others holds. I never thought I'd find someone so perfect for me.
I pulled away from her, and spun her out. She laughed and god, it was the sweetest sound. I smiled at her before spinning her back into me.
"Fuck you're perfect." I tilted her head up and softly kissed her lips. She melted into the kiss. I'm glad I have my girl back.
