Eighteen

Chance's Pov

I groaned when I fail again.

I'm playing Temple Run, whenever I'm upset I always play childish games to cool my mind. Am I childish? Well, don't blame me, it become my habit of playing this kinds of games everytime I'm upset.

“Vanth, what made you upset? We notice that this days, you are often upset. Tell us, maybe we can help.” Brion said.

“No thanks, I don't need your help. It's all your fault why I fail to tell her what I really feel when you barge in at the office that time. How will I tell her now? I lose all my confidence.” I groaned again and rake my hair frustratingly.

They know that it's my habit to play childish games when I'm upset. Did I told you already that the only secret left in me is that I like a girl? And now they know that too, so there's no secret left in me and that irritates me. In our circle of friends, I'm the youngest, I'm still 19 and the three of them is already 20 and coming 21. They treated me like a younger brother, they know all the things that concerned about me. And that's what irritates me more, I don't even know all the things concerned to them. I just knew their family background and other important stuffs, and the personal affairs, I'm out, I didn't know even a piece of it.

It's already months ago since that encounter in the principal's office and everytime I go near to Savy, she always ignored me. And I don't like it, because it seems that I lose the 1% chance I have on her. Everytime I thought of a possible solution and actions to make her notice and appreciate my existence, I ended up playing childish games because I don't have any in mind that can make her appreciate me.

“Let's go, it's time to go home. Stop playing that game already.” Brion tap my shoulder.

I didn't answer I just stood up and carry my bag then went out of our classroom. The three of them joined me walking towards the gate. I'm still playing the game when Brion spoke.

“Hey couz what are you doing here?”

“Picking up someone. Isn't it obvious?”

The other guy answered, when I look up I saw Arzen, cousin of my friend, Brion.

“Picking up someone? That's new—” Brion was cut off when Arzen's face lit up suddenly and smiled while looking at our back.

“Here she is. Freezer! mom told me to pick you up.”

The three of us look on our back and there we saw Savy. Wait Savy?! Why the hell Arzen call her Freezer? Are they that close for him to give her a nickname? Wtf?!

“Go away, I can go there by myself.”

She walks away as if she's the only person here in the gate with her usual emotionless face. Freezer suits her because of her coldness, but behind that coldness of her actions there's this sadness and loneliness in her eyes.

“Come on, don't be rude—”

“Oohh.. wait couz, uhm I'm just curious... Since when did you put an effort just to pick up a girl? It's my first time seeing you like this.” Brion commented.

Raht and Ember look on my side. I put my phone inside my pocket and didn't met their eyes.

“Just the time I saw Freezer back then. She's cute, and it caught my attention. I like her.” he laughed.

I look to Savy and saw her walk away, she didn't mind them talking about her.

“Freezer? What kind of name is that?”Brion ask again.

“Don't bother to ask, I have my reasons and it's confidential. Talk to you next time bro, I gotta go.” he smiled and look at the four of us then rode his Ducati to follow Savy.
