Marina stood by as he heard what she had borne witness to what happened. A hybrid chosen by the gods to be their ultimate warrior, and she has no thought as to what it means. She stood on her feet to only admire what had happened, but little understanding must what "being chosen by the gods" was supposed to mean.
But she wasn't the only one to be silent. A thousand pairs of eyes witnessed a hybrid's chosen course, and each face is sparked with a different reaction. An offspring of a human woman and a male dragon chosen to do an impossible task? "Such nonsense" is the most reaction of the people.
Geraldus and his comrades donning their uniforms turned to face each other with faceless motions. Even as they're stunned, words mutter from their mouths in whispers. A turning point of a different reality descends upon all the mortals.
The sounds of a great many voices all shrouded in near silence, but Marina picks up the soft tones. All talk in disproval of the hybrid, and a strong essence of a few guards spoke in the presence of the king, whose face is shot a glance of a strong shock than the eyes of disproval. His face glanced to the siren then to the Pangaean Knights.
His eyebrows raised. His crown around his temples tightened. His mouth opened if he was to absorb all the air. The look of death stunned Marina's eyes, as she quickly turned away from the king to look at the four Pangaean Knights. They showed more joy and no surprise to see the course of action and one set in stone of something from out of the Realm of Mortals.
"What just happened?" she asked.
Geraldus walked from his group to meet with the siren. "Don't you know what gods are if you overheard so much about humanity from a distance?"
"Yes, that they gave life to everything," Marina answered with a grim tone.
"But you don't know about today's event?"
"Chosen by the gods? I've never heard such a thing."
"Then you should know." Sora peeked her head behind her father. "Since ancient times, an evil hidden in the shadows is only seen by the gods. Immortal beings that see the shadows of mortals and it is believed a law was given that gods are forbidden to intervene with mortal life. But when a demon of Tartarus is sent to strike the Realm of Mortals, the risk of eternal death is imminent.
"So, they bestow upon a mortal with the strongest attributes. One can say is incorruptible and with the greatest possibility to thwart any evil attempt to destroy all life. A mortal monster promising to heathen Devils and the Sins to destroy all life."
"Why?" Marina asked curiously.
"Because that is the will of the evil," Sora answered, with almost impatience. "Surely you how sirens eat human flesh and drink our blood?"
"It's their natural habitat."
"Exactly just that, which is view evil by human eyes. From our eyes, sirens are an evil species. They disguise themselves in false images and steal our fathers and brothers from our arms, only to be fed to fish fangs."
Marina bit her lips. For a siren, she hated the word "meat" and truly despise it. A opposite of her species, her fangs weren't sharp to rip through a bone. "Well, I'm thankful I don't do any of what a siren is supposed to do, I guess."
"You guess?" called Vaeludar's voice. The hybrid landed near Geraldus and Sora with the sword's blade hung on his right shoulder and his hand gripped the hilt. "You claim to be a runt of the species, and you act the opposite of the typical, ordinary siren. That's more than a guess, isn't it, Geraldus?" Vaeludar's voice turned to Geraldus's face of worrisome.
