Marina got up at the creak of dawn when something echoed outside a giant window with wailing curtains flying in a soft breeze of a gentle wind. Birds chirped outside as she was suddenly woken. Marina was spoked and shocked at once to see she was in a strange, unfamiliar place.
She was dressed in a magnificent nightgown quite comfortable on her gentle blue fish scaly skin. It didn't itch and it didn't feel too long for her. The sleeves reached her arms, and her legs moved with ease.
Marina got out of the strange bed she didn't remember sleeping on. She walked to the window to see the outside, and she saw a land filled with green grass. The soft breeze cooled her thought process to remember what happened the day before.
She remembered traveling far with a lone man on a cart that led to a village and to a certain mortal she'd never witnessed: a human dragon hybrid. He slain a giant bull monster and led her to a house, which she met a household greeting her into their home. Then the memory fades after meeting the woman of the household.
Marina has no memory of how she got into the bed or what made her dress comfortably. She remembered the name Rhiannon and her voice that deepened the siren's heart to a soft beat, and to the point of suddenly shutting down. Her eyes closed in utter darkness and everything became blank.
Then there was a knocking sound echoing from a nearby door. It was soft and quiet, and Marina turned her head to see who it was.
The door opened softly and a young woman with braided ocean hair with a blue set of armor plastered around her chest, shoulders and lower legs. A white blue robe hung around her shoulders that matched her blue hair.
"Moring, Marina the Siren," greeted the woman Marina remembered as Sora.
"Sora, what..." Marina yaned. "What happened? I can't remember anything."
Sora gave a quick rundown of what happened the night before. Marina was stumped out like a dead corpse, but fully awake with eyes wide open. Vaeludar was the person who carried the siren to the bedroom, and Sora did a magic spell to have the siren's clothes changed as the siren slept in bed.
It was the room Sora showed the siren a short time before dinner. It is where Marina had changed from her armor she scraped in Siren's Cove. Marina's armor garments were on a nearby chair next to a small brightly shining polished wooden drawer.
After Sora finished, Marina gave a breath sigh of relief. Marina had a sudden thought that she was suddenly dead, but she was happy to still be alive in the house of the man who welcomed the siren into his home.
"Well, as long as I stay away from your mother, I'll live, I think. So, you dress for battle? What's going on?"
"Vaeludar and I are going to show you around and teach you who to properly. With the King coming to this village, we are going to need to show you how to display proper manners when in the eyes of royalty, and you better learn quickly. It is not going to be easy or you may have to conceal yourself in this household like a prison."
Marina shook her head in response. "I was held in Siren's Cove for too long. It is too late for me to turn back. Surely, there may be a handful of other humans to accept us as the siren runt I am."
"I make no promises to protect you, Marina. As you witnessed yesterday, I have a village to maintain and people to protect. Good and evil lurks everywhere, even though I am a bit evil. How so? When it comes to saving lives, I will choose to save humans rather than to have yours because humans are my family, and I will gladly die saving their lives.
"More so, the other Pangaean Knights and I are in agreement of saving human lives than yours. Since it is just you, you will just become a liability, and one we don't need. I don't need. And should the worst happen, I will choose humanity over you. You understand what I'm saying?"
