When my sister and I come for you, there will be nothing you can do to save yourself.
Those words kept replaying again and again in my head. There was something I was missing. I knew who his sister was, but I couldn't place the name.
Before I got into bed that night, I washed my face then looked at myself in the mirror. My hair hung loosely over my forehead and my eyes but I could see through the strands.
Looking in the mirror, I saw a far different person than I used to be a year ago. I was more sturdy, muscled, more scarred, and more dangerous looking.
What would Rose think of you if she saw you now? Murder, blood, drugs, scars, all this, this is you.
I shook my head violently and walked to the door furiously trying to forget it. I pulled a shirt on along with a jacket. Of course I kept a combat knife in my hand.
Walking out of the room, I ran down the steps to the door leading outside. The others had gone to bed a while ago so I didn't worry about them.
I walked outside into the grassy plain. There were some high looking reeds and a few trees. I sighed walking to the little lake and knelt at the edge.
I stared at the surface of the water. Why did I choose this life? If I hadn't chosen this life, I probably would still be with Rose...I would never have lost her. Goddammit I hate this!!
The wind was blowing fiercely and my hair blew across my face but I didn't care anymore.
I stood up just as a sharp object spun at me but I managed to dodge it. I frowned very confused but this. Did K.C come back? If he likes life he won't.
"Who is it? Who threw that?" I called.
There was a female laugh then out of the reeds stepped a figure clad in all black and grey leather clothing. There was a hood over the face and a mask covering the person's mouth. There were several parts of metal plating on the outfit as well.
The blue eyes looked at me amused, "Hello Rage. Miss me?"
I stared. I knew that voice and those eyes. Natasha...Oh god...
Natasha had always been the better fighter. She had even trained me for two years. Not that me sleeping with her had anything to do with her being banned by Cage but still. I didn't trust myself with being better than her in combat.
"Hello Natasha." I nodded curtly.
She chuckled, "Such a short response. I would've expected a warmer welcome."
"Not since your brother attacked me." I spat.
"Ah such hard feelings to my brother! It's getting quite unnerving. I don't understand that ridiculous outfit he wears. The gas mask? Please it only makes him look more like a geek."
I glared at her, "Why are you here?"
She looked at me with her eyebrows raised, "Oh dear me Rage. I must have forgotten. We're not here for you. We're here only for one purpose actually...That purpose is to kill one of your buddies."
I couldn't believe what I'd just heard, "Wh-why?"
Even though I couldn't see, I could tell she was smirking, "Because five is such an unlucky number! Make it four and then we're all fine and dandy."
I pointed my knife at her, "You're not touching any of them."
Her expression hardened, "You know you never could beat me in training."
"True. But I think you'll find I've ah, upgraded, my fighting." I smirked at her.
Before I could really do anything she was in the air coming at me. I didn't move away instead I pulled her out of the air and pulled her into an embrace, "I'm sorry for leaving you Natasha. Please forgive me."
