I stared in sadness and horror at the burning warehouse that was once a home. Sam was sobbing into Asher's chest.
Anna and Mack are gone...
This thought kept hitting me like a sledgehammer until I remembered something else. Something Natasha said. She had said we. She said it as more than one person. Meaning...
She wasn't alone.
My eyes widened at this thought and I spun around to Asher and Sam, "Get down!"
They didn't listen for the first two seconds I grabbed them and pushed them down just as a whole wave of gunshots and bullets whizzed over them.
Sam screamed so Asher and I put our arms around to protect her. Luckily I had gotten us behind a stack of tires that shielded us from the bullets for the moment.
I yelled over the gun shots, "Asher you get Sam out of here! I'll take care of these guys!"
He shouted back, "But if we leave you, they'll kill you! There's too many of them Rage even for you!"
I was silent for a bit as I thought this then looked at him sadly, "Do you have your gun?"
He stared at me then realized what I was doing and sighed, "Sure." He pulled it out of his holster and handed it to me along with four other full clips, "Shoot wisely Rage."
I smiled at him, "Tell Sam...Tell her that I love her."
I could tell he was about to say something but I slapped him lightly, "Go! I'll hold them off!"
He bit his lip then picked up Sam and ran into the tall grass.
A tear slipped down my cheeks but I slapped it away quickly then stood up quickly as the men were reloading. Only then did I see the number. There were at least six men. Each of them held a machine gun.
I raised my gun and fired three shots. Two successfully hit two men in the head making them crumple dead.
My brow furrowed as I noticed a long black limousine behind the men. But I had little time to stare at it because the men had their guns ready and began firing again.
I ducked quickly and checked my gun quickly before I jumped up for a moment and fired two quick shots. Only one shot succeeded and hit one of them where the sun don't fucking shine. I must say I didn't envy him.
Three down, three to go.
The bullets stopped one more time and I took the opportunity. I jumped up and ran out of my shelter and to the two spots where they were hiding.
They were fumbling with their clips but when they heard me they stared horrified but that was quickly over as I ended their lives with my gun.
As soon as that happened, the limo started pulling out of the area and began driving away.
"Fuck no." I shouted to myself and shot the two back tires out then I sprinted after it.
I scowled as I neared it then came to the driver's side door. I tried opening it but it wouldn't open so I used my other forms of strength.
I shot the window out.
Inside the driver died from the bullet passing through and killing him. There was a yelp inside the vehicle that sounded familiar. I yanked the back passenger door open and there he was.
Cage Rimmer.
"You!" I spat out furious.
Fear was all over Cage's face and I grabbed him by his suit collar pulling him out onto the ground.
