Bradley

'Go get her you idiot.'

I growled at him but chased after her. Why is she running doesn't she know that I'm her mate?! I saw her run up to a lady grab something and then run out. It must be her mom. I quickly walked outside the store and got into my car waiting for the lady I saw at the checkout stand. She came out a couple minutes later and walked out to a red car where I saw my mate. She had a look of relief once she saw the lady put the food in the trunk. She is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait till she's mine. For the split second I held her in my arms it felt so good until she threatened to call cops on me.

'Now that I think about I didn't really feel her wolf.'

'Something must have happened but that's still not gonna keep me away'

So caught up in my thoughts I didn't notice that they were halfway across the parking lot. I pulled out of my spot and drove towards them making sure to be gentle on the gas pedal so I didn't crash into them. They drove for a bit then turned down a familiar private dirt road where I remember my grandma used to live. It's been a while since I've been here, I smiled at the memories that I made with grandma, her and I playing outside, and her teaching me how to cook because she believed that men should also do household chores. I watched them disappear down the road and continued on my way back to the store since I had forgotten Amber's snacks.

'Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
breeze driftin' on by
You know how I feel

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good-'

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and answered it already knowing who it was, she's always been so impatient.

"Hello?" Annoyance was clearly from my voice which she didn't like.

'Where are you?' Amber asked.

"On my way to the store, what else would I be doing."

'What have you been doing this whole time?' she questioned.

"I had other errands to run, I'll be there soon!"

I hung up the phone before she could say anything else. I pulled back into the store's parking lot and got out going to the snack aisle trying to remember what sweet treats she liked to eat. After picking out some random things, I paid and went home because I had some things to sort through. Walking through the front door Amber's friends were already there, I threw the bag in her lap and they all giggled.

"I'll be in my office don't bother me!"

I walked into my office and quickly shut the door. I sat down at my desk and searched in my alphabetical contact drawer, I searched through the files until I got to the letter 'I'. Grabbing the folder I needed I opened it and a bunch of business cards fell out so I flipped through each one till I came across the one I needed. I typed the number in on my office phone and it started ringing immediately.

'Johnstone Investigations, John speaking.' His voice sounded so clear through the call line.

"Hey, John it's Alpha Bradley King."

'Good evening Alpha King how can I help you today?' Curiosity dripped from his words.

"I need you to investigate someone for me."

'Okay, what's the family's name?' He asked.

"I don't have a name, but I do have a current address. Would that work?" I said.

There was a brief silence on the phone before he continued to speak.

'Yes, that should be fine .'

"Okay, the address is 15273 Ocean Rd Greenwood, California."

'I got it! If you don't mind me asking why do you need this family information?'

"Apparently, my mate happens to live in that house." I said simply.

'Oh! Congratulations Bradley! I know you've been wanting a mate for a while now.'

I couldn't help but smile at the thought of having a mate.

"Now I don't have to wait any longer."

He half-heartedly laughed.

'Would you like school records also?'

"Why not."

'Okay, I will contact you in a few days, have a nice day Alpha.'

The phone call ended and I leaned back in my chair with anticipation building in my chest.

'I want to see my mate.' My wolf spoke.

'Yeah, let's go see her.'

I bolted downstairs and out the door, ignoring my sister's questions about where I was headed. Once I reached the edge of the forest, I shifted into my wolf form, running full speed through the trees toward her house. As I arrived, a window creaked open, and there she was—her long brown hair catching in the wind. She closed her eyes for a moment, and when they opened again, they locked with mine. My heart pounded against my chest, louder than ever.

'I will have you soon my love no matter what it takes.'

I howled and looked at her one more time before I turned around and left. It's only a matter of time before she's in my arms.
