Kinsley

I got out of the car as fast as I could that was the most awkward car ride of my life!

"Hey, Kinsley wait up!"

I just kept on walking there crazy!

Bradley

I walked upstairs into my office, determination settling in. I needed answers, and I needed them now. It was the perfect time since my sisters were keeping my mate company at the mall. Grabbing the phone, I dialed James' phone number, my Beta, to go on a field trip with me. It rang four times before he picked up.

'Hello.'  He groaned through the phone.
"James I need your help."
'Yeah, sure what do you need?'
"We need to head to my mate's parents' house, and we're doing it without her."
'Why?'
"I'll explain later," I said, not really trying to explain myself.
'Be there in five.'

His call ended with a click and then I dialed John's semi-familiar number.

'Hello?
"Hey, it's Bradley King  I need more information on my mates' parents. Markus and Marleen Winston," I said.
'Why?'
"Something's not right about them."

I heard the sound of his fingers typing away on his keyboard.

'I can't find their file on online anymore,' He said, sounding confused.
"What do you mean you can't find them?"
'Hold on.'

He started typing on his computer again, and after moments of silence, he spoke again.

'I'll keep on looking and call you when I find something.'
"Yeah ok, thanks."

As soon as the call ended the doorbell went off and I walked downstairs opening it to a confused-looking James.

"What's going on, man?"

"I'll tell you on the way."

I took the keys off the hook and we got in my car heading toward their house. When we got close enough I made sure to park next to the forest so that it led to the back of that house so we don't arouse suspension before we get there. We got out of the car and started walking.

"So what's going on?"

"I think my mate is Emelia Bessette." I blurted out.

"What? How do you know it's her."

"Well when she shifted I saw something behind her ear and it was the royal symbol."

"That's kind of crazy! I mean she literally just got here."

"Yeah, I know."

"So what are we doing here?" He looked at me waiting for an answer.

"I just want to see what they have to say for them and if they don't make any sense we're going to arrest them."

"Alright."

The rest of the walk was quiet, but my mind was racing with thoughts. I made sure to sniff out the area to see if anybody was home but their scent was vague but still here. I instructed him to knock on the door while I kept my eyes on the back door and after thirty minutes there was still no answer. We decided to break in without doing the breaking parts and checked to see if the sliding glass door was open but it was locked.

"Go check to see if an upstairs window is open."

He nodded and quickly left. I walked around to each bottom window to see if any of them were open but they weren't. We might actually have to break something and apologize later.

'There's a window open, it's your mates' room.'

I climbed up the vine and slipped through her window quietly. Once inside, I stepped out into the hallway and called for James, keeping my voice low.

"James, where are you?"

"I'm in the office." He replied, quickly.

I walked down the hallway and into the familiar office that was a mess with papers on the floor and some of the books on the shelf were missing. James was digging through the drawers looking into the files that were clearly left behind.

"I'm gonna go look somewhere else," I said, seeming like he had this under control.
"Okay."
"Stay alert," I warned.
"Yes, Alpha."

I went into their room and rummaged through the drawers, then moved on to the closet. That was basically empty with only a few shoes scattered on the floor and some clothes hanging loosely on the hangers. It looked like someone had left in a rush. After searching through the room a little longer, I headed downstairs, making my way to the hallway closet to keep looking for anything useful.

"Bradley, I think I found something!"

I walked upstairs back into the office.

"If I'm not mistaken isn't this a blueprint of the royal castle?"

"Let me see that." I grabbed it from his hand and it definitely looked like a blueprint that looked similar to the castle.

"Why would they need this? For some secret attack or something?" I asked trying to understand what I was seeing.

"I have no idea but guessing all the red markings I would think so."

I sighed and sat down in the seat, reality was slowly creeping in.

"Maybe she is the long-lost daughter," James said after a while of neither of us talking.

I pinched the bridge of my nose, It was a thing I attended to do when I get stressed out.

"How am I supposed to tell Kinsley-" I sighed. "And the royal family," I add on.

Shaking my head I got up heading to leave. "Put the stuff back just in case they decide to come back."

He began placing everything back into the drawers, his movements quick yet careful. I returned to her room and slipped through the window landing softly on my feet. Moments later, James followed, dropping down effortlessly beside me. Without a word, we headed toward the car with the weight of what we discovered hanging between us.

"So what are you gonna do?"

"I have no idea."
