After Yoru stormed off he went to go and work out to let off some steam
His thoughts overflowed him, he wasn't even counting how many reps he was going. ("Jett knew him way before me, she knows him better and would treat him much better than I ever could. I would never be able to actually tell him how I feel about him anyway, it's pointless....I shouldn't try getting close to Phoenix anymore...") Yoru sets down the weight and let's out a sigh ("I know that look...she wants him...it's not fair for me just to show up and take him away from her, I'm better off alone, like I've always been")
Like he's always been... Yoru let's out a sigh and burries his head in his hands, Yoru has always tried making himself seem cold and like he never cared about anyone but that firebird did something to him. Maybe it was Phoenixs energy? Or just the fact that Phoenix was just super persistent with Yoru. The riftwalker was not used to someone wanting to actually chat with him or wanting to be around him. The riftwalker didn't want to admit it but he liked the firebird bothering him at times and randomly waving to him whenever they shared glaces and oh how Yoru enjoyed seeing Phoenixs smile.
Yoru blushed thinking about the stupid firebird smiling and sighed
"What the fuck am I gonna do, does he even actually have feelings like that for me?" Yoru said this to himself and let out another sigh
After a while of sitting there someone else came in the room and without looking to see who it was yoru stood up and started to leave
"Yoru, we need to talk"
That voice, he was immediately annoyed once again and looked at the girl "what the hell would we need to talk about Jett, the only time I will talk with you is on a mission for call-outs so fuck off"
He continued to walk towards the door but was stopped when she mentioned Phoenix
"I don't know what's going on between you both but it's clearly affecting Phoenix and not in a good way since he's never reacted to something like the way he did today. I see how you are and your probably using him in some sort of way--" Jett stopped what she was saying when the riftwalker took a few steps closer to her and gave her a death stare
"Don't try to assume stupid shit like that about me, you don't fucking know me girly so why don't you fuck off"
"I'm just protecting my friend, something you'll never have" Jett responded in anger and took a step closer to him
"Tsk, protecting him my ass, you just don't want someone else getting close to him like you are"
Jett paused and gritted her teeth as she stopped to think about what the riftwalker just said
"What? Have nothing to say? Thought so, don't bother me about some stupid shit again" Yoru turns around and leaves but the wind girl goes after him
Both are now in the hallway as the wind girl starts to speak "If there's anything actually going on between you two..in a romantic way then can you please just...give me a chance? I've liked him for a long time, ever since I joined the protocol....I have feelings for him and I at least wanna try so please just give me a chance"
Yoru stands there and takes awhile to respond and let's out a sigh "you have till the end of my next mission and after that I don't give a fuck about how you feel, if something happens between me and him then something happens" after Yoru finishes what he has to say he heads to his room
Once Yoru closes his door and locks it he lays in his bed and starts to tear up. The thought of the firebird with someone else hurt him, but he wanted to give Jett a chance. If he was her he'd at least want the chance to confess, even if the person rejected him.
("But what if Phoenix accepts her feelings and chooses to be with her? Will he stop talking to me and only feel the need to talk to me on missions? I...don't know...")
After sulking and letting out his feelings for about an hour Yoru heads to the kitchen to grab something to drink. When he gets to the kitchen he spots Sova sitting at the middle counter with a bottle of vodka
"Hello my friend, nice to see your still alive, haven't seen you since the last mission I went on with you" Sova waves for the riftwalker to sit down next to him
Yoru sits down next to Sova and chats with him a bit and in the middle of the conversation sova gets up to get a shot glass and hands it to the riftwalker "let us share a drink, it is the first time you've actually had a full conversation with me" sova says this as he fills both his and Yorus shot glasses.
"I've never had straight up vodka like this" Yoru picks up the shot glass hesitantly
"There is a first time for everything" Sova picks up his and lifts it up in the air a little "to you Socializing"
Yoru roles his eyes "yeah yeah whatever" both men take the shots and chat more. As they talked Sova kept filling up the glasses, Yoru thought to himself that he would stop at 3 but it became a competition between the two on how many they could handle and at some point Yoru had to tap out because once he got to his 9th one the poor riftwalker couldn't walk.
Both men laughed loudly with each other as they talked for around an hour or more
"It's good to see you finally laugh! You usually are always serious and only focused on missions, remember that it is good to let loose once in a while when you can." Sova says as he fills up the shot glasses one more time
"I guess so, slowly getting used to being around the others, I think Phoenix has been helping me with that since he bothers me everyday"
Sova let's out a chuckle "yes, he can be quite a handful at times, I'm surprised you both interact quite a bit"
"Ah yeah, I guess I just got used to him bugging be all the time so I just let him without feeling like he's bothering me...ah..he's so sweet" Yoru smiles to himself as he says that
Sova gives the riftwalker a surprised expression but then laughs "I know that look my friend! I wish you luck"
Yoru blushes "what look? I just smiled a little.." Yoru covers his mouth with his hand
"You said what you thought about Phoenix and smiled, you looked completely relaxed thinking about him, trust me my friend I know what I'm talking about and I wish you luck"
Sova lifts his last glass one more time "To wish you luck with your relationship with the chatterbox Phoenix"
Sova takes the shot and stands up to put away the almost empty bottle. Yoru stares at his glass and decides to take it and once he does sova takes the empty glasses to the sink
Yoru came to the kitchen for a drink, this wasn't the drink he was thinking of
