Both men finished up their showers and got dressed, both the firebird and riftwalker had their guns picked out and ready, with around 2 hours left till it was time to leave on the mission, they both just stayed in their rooms till it was time.

Once it was time both Phoenix and Yoru walked to the jet together, Yoru could just feel the eyes of the firebird on him
"Are you trying to set me on fire with that stare or something idiot? Focus on where your walking, you almost bumped into me"
"Come on butterfly, how am I supposed to take my eyes of such a beautiful piece of art?" Phoenix says this as he reaches for Yorus hand but the riftwalker just slaps it away
Yoru starts walking a bit faster as to hide his blushing face from the firebird "hurry up or we're gonna be late"
They both get to the jet and see that Camber and Killjoy are already there
Phoenix goes to take a seat next to killjoy and looks up at Yoru signaling him to come and sit next to him but before he could even take a step Jett dashed in and sat next to Phoenix with a wide smile greeting the firebird
Yoru nodded at Phoenix as to say that it was okay and sat in the only available spot, near Chamber.
Phoenix glared and gritted his teeth at Chamber as the French man just gave him a sly smile and started to chat with the riftwalker
Phoenix tightened his fist and was about to say something but the wind girl interrupted him making conversation, Phoenix looked at the wind girl and slightly calmed down but was still irritated. The whole way to wherever they were going, all Phoenix could hear besides the wind girl was Chamber talking with Yoru, well, it was more of just Yoru being rude to the French man so it wasn't as bad.
Where they ended up going was ascent, once they landed killjoy was the one to tell everyone where they were going to be positioned, Jett and Phoenix at B, Yoru and Chamber at A and her herself was going to be mid.
Phoenix didn't like the idea of Yoru being left alone with Chamber for multiple reasons ("What could he really do to him on a mission? He'd have no time to do anything since we need to be focused so I shouldn't worry to much") Phoenix thought as he took one more glance at the riftwalker but then walked up to Chamber
"You better watch his back" Phoenix said this in a harsh tone and glared at him with a hateful expression
"Ah, don't you worry, I wouldn't let anything hurt the little blue bird, not to badly that is, now if you excuse me I must go and get into position" Chamber says and knowing he angered the firebird even more with a smerk and walks away dragging the riftwalker along
"You coming fire boy! The site isn't gonna defend itself!"
Phoenix looked back at Jett and nodded as he followed her to B site without saying a word

After around a half hour of silence Jett tried breaking the silence with Phoenix
"Sooooooo, what's got you so worked up"
Phoenix looked at the wind girl and sighed "I just don't really trust chamber with watching someones back"
"Yoru can hold his own you know, he prefers to work alone anyway so don't worry to much about him"
"I know he can handle himself I just...I don't know, I just worry for his safety a lot...I guess we just got really close and I care for him quite a bit"
"Ah..I see...I mean it's understandable I guess since you've both been spending time with each other...you too really seem to be good friends.."
"Huh, is something wrong with that? You sounded really upset when you said that"
"No! No, I just..." Jett let out a sigh, fixed her posture and looked Phoenix straight in the eyes "Phoenix...look..I need to tell you something...your my best friend and you understand me so well, we've gone through so many things together and you've always managed to make me laugh even when I'm down, the effect you have on me makes my heart race and I know you probably don't have the same feelings for me but I...love you..but I see how close you are with Yoru...if you love him then at least don't forget about me, I still want to be your best friend so please, don't forget about me to much" Jett gave Phoenix a soft smile as a few tears went down her cheeks
Phoenix ruffled her hair as he usually does and spoke softly "your right, I do have feelings for Yoru..but just know you'll always be my good friend Jett, no matter what" Phoenix smiled as he wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks
After a while her tears stopped and she smiled feeling like something was just lifted off her shoulders as she looked up at the firebird "Thank you Phoenix"
"No problem dork" he chuckled as she elbowed him
"We should get back to actually focusing on the task at hand"
"Yeah yeah, don't worry, if anything happens just leave it to the boss" Phoenix gestured towards himself and gave the wind girl a playful smile as she laughed

More time went by as everyone watched their positions, carefully listening and after a while gunfire was heard from A.
Jett dashed out of B to head to A immediately
Phoenix quickly put his hand on his earpiece and started to head to A himself "what's going on over there?!"
There was no response and more gunfire, panic set in and once Phoenix got on site he was met with 3 clones dead on the ground with the spike, Chamber sat up on rafters with his Tour de Force with Killjoy next to him and Jett was also on site but he didn't see Yoru.
"Where's Yoru Chamber?" Phoenix asked out of breath
"He wanted to go ahead and flank them, I tried to stop him but he didn't listen" Chamber sat up and brushed his pants off "do you want me to go check on the little blue bird?"
Phoenix gritted his teeth "I'll get him myself" just as he was going to leave a beeping sound was heard
"Spike was planted at B, quickly everyone to the site and be ready to push in all together, that includes you Phoenix, yoru is probably already there so get moving" Once killjoy finished what she was saying all the agents made their way to B
