I open my eyes like I do every morning and wish I hadn't. I look at the time, 5am. I don't quite feel anything, like I'm watching myself go through the motions from someone else's eyes

I get up and decide to walk around the house, Rafael is awake in the kitchen. Talking on the phone with someone, he doesn't hear me come in

"Okay, I got it... Yeah, tell Daisy I'll be there soon. NY Memorial right?...Thanks...We need to incorporate better measures so this kind of shit doesn't happen again if I can help it"

New York Memorial? That's a hospital. I come closer, not bothering to be quiet knowing Rafael will sense someone behind him

He turns around fast, sighing when he sees it's me. He asks me how I slept but I don't answer. I can't find my voice. Instead I look pointedly at his phone

"You heard" he says. I don't say anything, just wait for him to explain

"You want to come with me? I'm gonna visit Daisy at the hospital...she's okay. I'll explain on the road, I'll drop you off at school when we're done"

Daisy is hurt. Daisy is at the hospital

I turn around and sprint up the stairs to get dressed, Rafael asks if I'm coming but he'll get his answer when I come back down

The cat is in my room again. I thought Lucas had said he finally found a home for all the animals he was fostering, the remaining one is Milo but because it's his dog. Not up for adoption

He must've forgotten to mention the cat is still here. He's missing half an ear, the poor thing. He or she meows and jumps on the bed, reaching its head out for me to pet

Whenever I feel like talking again I'll ask Lucas what it's name is, wait...her name. She just rolled on the bed, yeah no dick in sight

I go back down in my uniform, thankful we can finally use hoodies and thicker tights because of the cold weather. Rafael is waiting with a coffee in hand

"Are you okay?" Rafael asks once we're in the car. I just turn to look out the window

I close my eyes and manage to sleep for the entire ride. I startle awake when Rafael tells me we're here

The walk towards her room is a blur, I don't like hospitals. They remind me of that night, it makes me remember the pain and the trauma

Room 106. Daisy Jones

Rafael pulls me back to explain what happened, since I fell asleep during the way over

"Are you sure you want to see her? You don't look too good" geeez thanks Rafael

I cross my arms and wait for him to talk. He looks between my eyes for a few seconds before sighing

"Her ex boyfriend" her rapist "found a way to track her down, she was out at the park when he came out of nowhere. He was in the run from the cops, he attacked her" he says

So he hadn't been arrested, I suppose they caught him already. A woman I recognize from the NVI comes out of the room and greets us

"How is she?" Rafael asks and the woman winces

"She's not speaking" the woman says

"Sounds familiar" the annoying giant mutters "Has she given a statement?" He asks
