Shock registered on Nash's face before he could hide it. Does she want evidence? This woman has slapped right in front of him and now questioning the evidence? Little did the dunderhead know, Jennie was trying to prove evidence exhausts the truth.
Jennie kept her anger in check when the barking dog sitting in front of her mocked her. Kick a barking dog, and it will only bark more. Jennie pretended not to notice, assuming it would shut its mouth eventually. But it made a mistake. A grave mistake! It touched her bottom line degrading Lisa, arousing every nerve in her body like molten lava, and before she reflected, her hand raised, denting Nash's face. ''Glad that my husband hasn't come here. Otherwise, you will end up with nothing to lose.''
In Nash's perspective, Enger is the most ruthless monster, but the man always takes a step back to confront Lisa face to face. He doesn't understand why, but this is alone enough to know Lisa's power and command. Nash knew Lisa's capability, but anger caused him to speak out of his thoughts, and in turn, got slapped by Jennie. If not for Enger, he would have dealt with this woman in his own way. ''Raising a hand on a journalist is a serious offense. I can take you to the court of law.''
''You need to step out of this house alive first.'' There was a firmness in Moonbyul's tone that threatened to drive Nash's fear at the edge. Nash clenched his fists. Enger might not have known that Jennie and Moonbyul brought him here for investigation. He has to deal with them carefully and get out of this place soon. ''I am telling the fact, I don't have anything to do with your husband's accident.'' His tone was stern.
''Then why did you ask about his company affairs?'' Jennie probed again.
''I work in a reporting company, and it's our job to pull information about celebrities. That's how we work.''
''If that was the case, why didn't I see any news posting about him in your channel?'' Jennie's voice mounted to the peeks. When she first entered the building, she wanted to interrogate Lidiya first, but her legs brought her here, and now she is getting a hunch that Nash definitely has a hand in Lisa's accident.
Nash was taken back by the sudden question. He didnot think Jennie would twist the questions to trap him into the web. When Enger asked about Lisa's business trip, he tried all the possible ways, but his efforts turned futile. Planting a mole in Lisa's company is the dumbest thought Nash could think because the tracks would eventually lead to the mole. But luckily, he stumbled upon Lidiya's secret, and he used it to his advantage.
Yes! He planned and seduced Andrea to know about Lisa's business trips. Although Nash was disgusted, he still suggested a fivesome and made her spill the secrets at the peak of her orgasm. When Nash thought he had cleared all the evidence, this woman caught a single thread and brought the case until here. If he is not careful with his words, Jennie will find out about Enger. Jennie is close! Very close. He can't let that happen. ''I don't understand why am I the prime suspect when three more people were along with Andrea on that night,'' Nash asked. ''Why can't it be Lidiya, Charles, or James?''
.....
In a crummy room, Nick was sitting in front of Lidiya. ''So you are telling Nash asked you to introduce Andrea?''
''Yes,'' Lidiya replied in a calm voice. ''Please understand me, sir. Nash and I work in the same company. I don't have a hand in the accident. I asked about CEO's personal stuff because I am a fan of him. Other than that, I did not talk about any CEO's business trips.''
The mouth might lie, but never the eyes. Nick could feel the honesty in Lidiya's eyes. He texted Jennie and rose from his seat to check upon Charles and James. Before going out, he signaled the guards to look after Lidiya.
...
''Instead of shifting your concentration on me, focus on catching the actual criminal,'' Nash said in a pretended solemnity. Even if these people torture him, he will not reveal Enger's name. His loyalty belongs to him alone.
