The incident with Landon that happened three days ago brought Yong-sun and Moonbyul a lot closer. Concerned about her safety, Moonbyul offered to stay at his house, but Yong-sun refused, not that she was scared or didn't want to live with him under the same roof, but the drunken kiss had left a greater impact on her.
To her surprise, Moonbyul offered himself to stay in her house. Yong-sun wondered whether the Moonbyul she is seeing is the actual Moonbyul or his doppelganger. ''Are you sure you want to stay here?''
''Of course.'' He said with certainty. He has made up his mind already.
''I will be fine, Moonbyul.'' Yong-sun said, picking a bowl from the wooden cabinet to make coffee. ''You don't need to take up the job of babysitting me.''
''I have pushed you into this mess. So, I have to make sure you are safe.'' Moonbyul snatched the bowl from her hands and put it back inside the cabinet. ''No coffee. It's dinner time.'' He rebuked her. Keeping her safe would be the fairest reason he has come up to stay close to her without sounding obvious.
''Can't you keep your punctuality aside for a day? No wonder a girl never approached you.'' She teased to annoy him. Her words made Moonbyul halt his actions. He put aside the mushroom bowl he was washing and approached Yong-sun when his brain reminded him of the giant's words about the girl's preferences. ''Can I ask you a question?'' Upon hearing Yong-sun's yes, he posed. ''What kind of person do you like?''
''What?'' His words confused like a twist of a creeper. Is he asking about her preferences? She had never seen or heard him talking about such kind of stuff with anyone.
''I..I mean..It's like this...one of my colleague's girlfriend broke up with him because her father doesn't want his daughter to marry a man whose life is involved with dangers. Poor fellow cried days nights after the breakup. I am sharing with you because you are my friend.'' Moonbyul made up a story with a mixture of the giant's conversation and his own ideas. Internally he patted himself for coming up with such a high-grade story. He eagerly looked up at Yong-sun, waiting to know her share of thoughts. ''What do you think about him?''
''Sad for him! But if the girl had truly loved him, she would have found all the ways to convince her dad and marry her boyfriend. Besides, being an FBI is cool. I love that profession.'' Her last sentence was barely a whisper, but Moonbyul caught it perfectly.
So, she doesn't think like other girls. She likes his job, which means, does she like him as well? Something strange started to rage inside Moonbyul. His gaze searched her face keenly. Her round eyes, her perfect brows, finally his gaze landed on her lips. Without his conscience, his legs closed the scant space between them. He raised his hand to her face and ran his thumb across her bottom lip. Her heart beat faster and faster at the cold touch of his finger. But her mind was romping with her dangerously.
The day he experienced the drunken kiss, Moonbyul longed to touch these tender, soft petals. Addicted to her scent, she pulled him towards her like a moth. Caging her, he leaned forward to her trembling lips.
Right at the moment, a loud buzz interrupted their moment. Moving out of her trance, Yong-sun backed off. ''I-I it's my mobile ring. I have to take this call.'' She grabbed the call and fled out of the room without waiting for Moonbyul's response.
''What did I do?'' Moonbyul muttered, running a hand through his hair. Her presence would make him forget the world. ''How will she react when she sees me at the dinner?'' Brushing the thoughts aside, Moonbyul made dinner and set them on the table. An hour passed, Yong-sun didnot come out of the bedroom. Moonbyul was about to knock on the bedroom door, the door opened before that.
A moment of awkward silence, but Moonbyul broke it off. ''Dinner is ready.'' And he left.
Yong-sun followed behind him silently. At the dinner table, she dropped the awkward atmosphere when she opened the lid. ''It's Tempeh Bourguignon?''
