''Did you forget that I am helping you with the case,'' Yong-sun teased.
''I don't want the help that can put you in danger,'' Moonbyul said in a firm tone. ''Break up with him.'' Moonbyul declared sternly. Now that he has confronted his feelings, he is not ready to share her with anyone. ''Or you have developed feelings for the criminal?''
''Of course, no,'' Yong-sun said impassively. ''I have no feelings for him.'' 'Don't worry, my dear Cutie pie. It's only you.' Yong-sun kept the thought to herself for now. She ended her one side feelings for Lisa before dating Landon, but that lewd man never occupied her mind or heart. With Moonbyul's entry, she often forgets she is in a relationship.
''Then break up now.'' Moonbyul went to the bedroom and returned in an instant. He placed the mobile on the table and said. ''Call him now.''
What's happening to this man? His desperation made Yong-sun wonder about his motive. ''Landon is not in the city, and he will return in another two days. I will talk with him-''
''Then send him a text that you want to meet him as soon as he returns,'' Moonbyul said, leaving no room for discussion. First, he has to keep her away from Landon. Second, he has to propose to her. Again, Moonbyul's felt his face feverish. He googled ways to propose to a girl, but none of them suited to his taste. So, he decided to get help from Jennie.
Yong-sun sighed. She doesn't know the reason for Moonbyul's stubborn behavior. But in the end, she sent a text to Landon to stop their argument.
.....
At the other end, a prolonged silence ensued against the engulfing darkness. Landon stared at the message pausing his blink. [Yong-sun: I am sorry that I was unable to lift your call. I am at a friend's place. Call me as soon as you return home. I want to talk to you urgently. Good night.]
His dark eyes dropped to the whiskey bottle as he leisurely sat on the soda. He stared at the pictures of his girlfriend smiling at another man. Landon poured himself more whiskey and took a sip, its warmth chasing away the internal chill. When Yong-sun urged him to discard the bodyguards, he found a point because it hindered her privacy. But her recent behavior and ignorance caused him to investigate further. Never in his dreams, he expected she is moving closely with his nemesis, Moonbyul. ''He lured her into the trap to obtain the evidence?'' He chucked at the masterstroke Moonbyul laid for him.
Just then, he received a call from one of the men he assigned to monitor Yong-sun. ''Speak.''
''Yong-sun madam is in her house. A few hours ago, I saw a man entering her house.''
''Keep monitoring her,'' Landon said. ''..and inform me every one hour.''
''Yes, sir.''
Landon's grip over the glass tightened. In a split second, it was tossed across the floor; the impact caused the glass to break into pieces. ''You dare to cheat on me?''
....
The following day, Yong-sun got up late in the morning. It turned midnight when she ended her talks with Moonbyul. Unlike the stoic front he usually keeps, Moonbyul was fun this time around. He even teased her in some instances, which came as a surprise to Yong-sun.
With full-on high spirits, she went to the hospital and returned with the same enthusiasm in the evening. She collapsed on the bed with no mood to prepare the dinner. She wished Moonbyul was here, but she can't accept more from a busy body like him. Yong-sun closed her eyes to take a nap but not about a minute later; she heard the doorbell ring. ''Who is it now?'' She cried, getting down from the bed.
As Yong-sun opened the door, she gulped. It was Landon who was standing in front of the doorstep. ''Hi! You are supposed to come tomorrow, isn't it?''
''Are you not happy to see me?''
