I didnot give much thought to it when my wound healed in just hours which was supposed to take at least three days, considering the severity of the cut. But, I had to reconsider when the same girl saved me from another danger. A car almost hit me when I was crossing a road from a store, but she saved me coming out of nowhere. She was as quick as a Gazella, as fast as a racing cheetah. No. I had never seen something move with such a fantastic speed.
''Are you okay?'' She pulled me to the sidewalk area. With a panic look on her face, she examined my body for injuries.
''How did you know I am here? or have you been following me all the way?'' I demanded, jerking my hands off. ''How the hell you did that? Don't tell me you are something that I don't want to imagine?''
''I-I am not....I am sorry. I have to go.'' She ran off without explanation. I was glad she didnot show her supernatural abilities this time.
''Weird girl,'' I muttered, looking at her retreating figure.
A month later, she showed up in front of my school. With the burden I am shouldering already, she is turning into another headache. ''What's with you?''
''A coffee with you.'' She smiled, which irritated me more.
''You should know my answer by the look of revulsion on my face.'' Before I walked past her...
''I saved your life. Don't you owe me a favor?'' She asked.
I can't deny the fact. She saved me from the danger. It's just one coffee. I am not going to lose anything with one coffee. ''Alright.'' I agreed. ''Just once.''
''Thank you!'' She squealed.
I was sitting opposite her, wearing the most boring look on my face. I planned to sneak into Jennie's school with Jisoo to see the annual festival, but this girl is literally wasting hours of my precious time for one cup of coffee. I heard from Seulgi that Jennie is playing detective Sherlock Holmes in a drama. It's one in millennia to miss such an opportunity. I offered Jisoo a PlayStation, and he readily agreed without asking further questions.
''Can't you skip seeing the detective drama for today?'' Her question completely threw me out of my seat. How did she hear my inner thoughts? ''Who are you? Are you..are you a werewolf?''
''No.''
''A vampire? or a shapeshifter?''
'No. I am not.'' Morvena replied. ''Do you believe those creatures exist? They are myths.''
''I don't believe. But it looks like I have to now.'' My eyes keenly focused on her teeth, but I found no canines. Oh, no. I forgot the myths I read. The fangs and claws can be extended and retracted at their own will. Is she one among them? The thought of having a coffee with those creatures caused his body to cringe. ''How could you read my inner thoughts? How did you heal my injured wound?''
She lowered her head, her mouth shut from forcing the truth.
''Fine. It's not my concern anyway. Thanks for saving me.'' I got up from the chair. ''Don't show up in front of-''
''I am not any supernatural creature, you assumed.'' She lifted her head, and glanced at me, and pointed her eyes to the chair.
''Then?'' I went back to the chair.
''I was born with enhanced physical and mental abilities.''
''Sorry?''
''I know you think of me insane. But this is truth. Telepathy, time travel, psychokinesis, I can affect the physical system without physical interaction. My mind and body can travel at the speed of our thoughts.'' She explained.
