Humming, I strolled along the street, not really paying attention to where I was going. I didn't want to go back home just yet, so I strolled through the nearby park, ending up at a bus station. I decided to take the next one going back to my apartment. Cheerfully wandering to the bus stop, I almost ran into someone coming out from the nearby supermarket. I wanted to apologize as I recognized him. "Sunoo!", I exclaimed happily. His face lit up, but a second later he furrowed his brows. "Where's that hoodie from?", he asked confused. I blushed. I totally forgot about it. Then I leaned closer and mumbled conspiratorially: "Sunoo. You never guess who I crossed paths with after I left from yours." He looked at me silently, so I went on with a proud grin: "Heeseung! He didn't have an umbrella, so we shared mine and I walked him home and then he invited me in to warm up and then he gave me his hoodie and then we watched Titanic and then he had to go but he said it was a wonderful afternoon and now I even have a reason to text him, I mean I gotta give him the hoodie back even though it smells so good and it's so comfy that I would love to keep it but then again-" "Stop", Sunoo interrupted me and I realized how much I had rambled. I looked at him.
He smiled softly, but sadly. I titled my head. "So that's it?", he asked, "Our little Katy is head over heels indeed?" "Yes, I guess I actually did grow up", I beamed. He chuckled and lifted his hand, but then dropped it again. "Are you sure you like him? Not just a temporary crush?", he went on. I didn't really have to think, but I attempted to at least try before nodding firmly. "I liked him since I first saw him and even while he was on the exchange he sometimes roamed in my mind. But when he came back, he was more mature, more confident, more handsome and I couldn't deny it anymore – Sunoo, I am sure." He sighed.
"Well, good luck to you then, I guess", he shrugged, "But it sounds like you don't even need make-up or perfume to get the guy." I beamed and hugged him into a tightly. "Thanks, Sunoo. For everything. You're the best", I mumbled. "Yeah, don't forget about that", he gave back and freed himself again, "And tell me if he ever doesn't treat you right, okay?" "Promise", I smiled. "Okay, well, gotta go, my bus is coming", he said and ruffled my hair before rushing away. I grinned while fixing it again and walked to my own stop while humming a soft tune.
--- Heeseung's POV ---
My mind was all over the place and I knew that my friend had figured. I hadn't told Katy that I was meeting a girl in fear of leaving the wrong impression. Annie had been my friend for so long now and just like Jay and Katy, we just went along as close friends. She nudged me. "Whoever made you be so dreamy all day, ask her out already", she jokingly grinned me, "Geez, I haven't seen you like this since the last time when you got to know –" "Yeah, whatever", I interrupted her. "What's her name? How did you get to know her? How old is she? How does she look like? How is she? What do you like so much about her? What did the two of you do beforehand?", she plied me with questions and I sighed, knowing very well that she wouldn't stop until having at least some information.
"Katy. Her name's Katy", I mumbled barely audible, but she picked it up nonetheless. Her eyes grew big. "Isn't that...?", she asked and I nodded. Her face changed from surprised to teasing as she hummed: "Look at our Heeseung..." I blushed and glared at her, which just made her chuckle. The door opened and her brother peeked inside, saving me from another round of questions. For now. "Annie, can you help me out really quick?", he asked. "Beomgyu, closed doors are meant for knocking before opening", she complained but got up nonetheless. "Be right back", she told me and followed her brother outside.
My phone dinged. I couldn't avoid that big smile that grew on my face as I saw who had texted me. "Hey Heeseung. I totally forgot to return your hoodie. Hope you don't mind. I'll wash it and bring it over. Or you can come pick it up anytime. Thanks again for lending it to me 😊", I read Katy's message. "If you want to, you can also keep it", I texted back. "For real?", she answered within a second. I chuckled. She was cute. "Sure. I don't need it anymore 😉", I reassured her. "Thank you so much!! I love it!", she wrote back and I could literally hear the excitement in her voice. I liked the idea of her keeping the hoodie. She always had a part of me with her then. And even though it had been one of my favourites, I wanted her to have it. Only the best for her.
Another message arrived. I furrowed my brows. This time it was from Sunoo. "You better are honest with Katy. Don't you dare asking her out if she's only a passing adventure for you", he wrote. This surely was a 100% honest. "I mean everything", I texted back carefully, "But I won't ask her out if you don't want me to." "What do you mean? Go ahead, do it. You make her happy as far as I can already tell. That's all I want." "Thank you, Sunoo. I mean it." "Don't be too careless. I'll keep an eye on you two." "Understood."
I sighed and put my phone aside. Poor Sunoo. I really felt bad for him but he just allowed me to date his crush on his own. It was about Katy and she had decided against him. Hopefully she decided for me though... Another ding on my phone made me snap out of it and I looked to find another message of Sunoo. "I guess you figured anyway, so here goes nothing. Please don't ever tell her that I have a crush on her. I might not be the one I want to be for her, but at least I don't want to ruin what we have until now. I don't want it to be awkward even though she would try her best not to make it that because that's how she is – always trying to make her loved ones comfortable, sometimes even forgetting about herself while doing so. But it would get awkward and I hate that thought. So please don't." "I won't. I promise."
