Coffee date

I couldn't keep still the whole day, not even as Jay threatened to tie me to a chair out of annoyance. I just replied that I would probably hop around with the chair as well since everything within me told me to move. He had rolled his eyes, mumbling something to himself before explaining to me that I was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold and that I shouldn't be worried because as far as he knew his cousin, everything would go perfectly fine and that he was very likely to be just as nervous as I was. I appreciated his words, I really did, but it didn't make me stop. However, I decided to walk up and down my own room instead of the whole apartment.

I had already settled on an outfit – thanks to Jay. I wore the same jeans from today morning and a black top, revealing my shoulders. My hair was open and flowing down my back in slight waves, not bothered by the long silver feather earrings. The sun shone brightly so I decided against a jacket, also because of Jay wiggling his eyebrows as he lectured me on the effect exposed shoulders had on men. I put on a bit of mascara and perfume and even though I hadn't planned on doing it, Jay had insisted to keep it simple like this. "You're a natural girl, so let's go natural", he had said, ignoring my sulky mumbling that every person was of natural origin. "We can step up the game later", he had shrugged, "You're going to a café, not straight to your wedding." I had jokingly hit him but decided to believe him.

And when the doorbell rang this afternoon, I jumped up from my bed, checking my appearance one last time in the mirror and fixing my hair. I heard how Jay opened the door. "So, you are the one I will leave my precious girl to today?", he said in a father-like voice. I smiled softly. "Yes, Sir", Heeseung answered. "Don't you dare hurt her or I will hurt you", the other one continued when I stepped into their eyesight. Heeseung stared at me with wide eyes while I stared at the big bouquet in his hands. He still wore the same outfit as this morning, jeans and a white shirt, but it looked forbiddingly good on him. Suddenly I realized why Jay suggested to "go natural". I blushed.

Heeseung looked like he liked my outfit, yet, foolishly as I felt, I asked: "Do I look good?" "Perfect", he mumbled and Jay smiled fondly. I chuckled flustered and went over to take the flowers. I smelled them – It was a beautiful scent. Yet, I preferred how Heeseung smelled like. "Thank you for those. They're gorgeous", I said shyly. "Just like you", Heeseung gave back, face red just like mine right now probably. "Might you take care of them?", I asked Jay. He nodded and took them from me so that I could take Heeseung's arm. "Shall we go?", I suggested. "Be back before the streetlights are on", Jay shouted after us.

Heeseung opened the door for me. He had chosen the place and I looked around curiously. It was small and really cozy. The tables were decorated lovingly, the music was pleasant and it smelled delicious. He walked me over to a table in the corner and pulled out the chair for me. I could tell he was just as nervous as I was, yet he did his best to not let it show and be the perfect gentleman instead. "I hope you like it here", he mumbled shyly as he sat down himself. "I already love it", I reassured him with a big smile. Relief showed on his face.

The waitress came and we ordered, deciding to go cliché by sharing an ice-cream. When it arrived, Heeseung took the spoon and scooped a bit of the ice-cream, holding it out for me. I looked at him surprised but then leaned forward to taste it. I closed my eyes to fully enjoy it. As I opened them again, I was met with his, looking at me endeared. I blushed. "You gotta taste it, it's really good", I changed topic shyly. With a slight smirk, he scooped a second portion and ate it himself while I took my own spoon. In between our eating, we slowly started to talk, nervous and shy at first, growing comfortable again over time just like we were usually. It was the unspoken truth of this being a date which made us so awkward around each other. However, I had to admit to myself that I didn't mind being awkward around him. I felt safe when he was there, knew I was allowed to make mistakes.

We joked around on our way back as the sun slowly set, the night taking over. Heeseung draped his jacket around my shoulders while we walked under the light of a thousand stars through the streets, no actual aim in mind, just strolling along since we both didn't want this to end already. But it had to be, so rather later than sooner, we stood in front of my apartment door again. "Thank you for today", I said, holding onto his hands, one of them already catching mine long ago and since then not letting go. "Thank you as well", he smiled. I decided to be a bit bolder than usually. "Will you now ask me out properly? Since it went so well this time?", I asked with lowered eyes. "Would you like me to?", he wanted to know. I nodded shyly. "Then I will", he promised and gently lifted my chin with his hand. I locked eyes with him, smiling happily. "I hope it won't take long then", I gave back. "Don't worry about that", he smiled, "I am not afraid of you saying no anymore, after all." "There never was a need to", I replied. "Then maybe I should have done it earlier already", he said. "Maybe", I agreed.

"No time to waste for this other thing then", he mumbled as he laid his arm around my waist, pulling me closer. My heart accelerated in an instant, my legs went weak and I held onto him tighter. As I got aware of the soft smile on his face, I couldn't help but blush. And as he leaned in and gently covered my lips with his, my face heated up even more. My head went dizzy in an instant, my heart was about to burst, my stomach was releasing fireworks instead of butterflies. My eyes closed long ago. I carefully started to move my lips against his, smiling into the kiss. Time stopped and everything around us got drowned out immediately.

And way too soon he pulled away. Being adorably shy at first, he now definitely turned into teasing mode. "Good night", he mumbled against my lips while I still had my eyes closed, drunk-dazed by the kiss I haven't overcome yet, "Sweet dreams, my love." A last peck on the cheek before he let go off me and went away, a few steps backwards, then turned around, ruffling his hair. I watched him leave.

Still stars in my eyes, I opened the apartment door, snapping out of it and shrieking as Jay stumbled towards me. I looked at him confused, needing a bit more time until I realized. I put my hands on my hips. "Did you eaves-drop?", I asked in disbelief, only know getting aware of some other people standing behind him. Niki, Jungwon, Sunghoon. I raised an eyebrow, then chuckled and waved it off. "I won't ask but I also won't tell.", I announced grinning and passed them by, walking straight into my room to start my laptop. Time to call the girls. Roxy and Maya already waited patiently – more or less – for me to tell them everything. And I was almost convinced, the guys would try to eavesdrop yet again.
