I wasn't really surprised as I saw that both, Jay and Heeseung, fell asleep on the couch in the living room. I smiled softly and walked past them into the kitchen. A bit later, I sat at the table, my breakfast in front of me and a book in my hands. I was too immersed in my book to realize Heeseung coming in. I flinched as he wished me good morning. He chuckled and sat down next to me. "Sorry", he said, sounding still a bit sleepy. I waved it off and put my book aside.
"What are you reading?", he asked. "Midnight library", I answered. "Good book, I heard", he continued. I nodded. "So, you're about to move to this part of the city too?", I changed topic. It seemed we both didn't know what else to say. "If everything works out, yes", he agreed, "I'll look at the apartment today. But the chances are high I'll like it. The photos looked really nice. The only question is if the guy I'd share it with will be okay with me as his roommate." "Fingers crossed", I smiled. "Thanks", he smiled back. We went silent. It seemed we both kinda sucked at smalltalk. The weirdest part was that we actually knew each other from his visits before the student exchange. But for both of us things had changed in the meantime and it was like a whole new start.
Luckily, Jay scuffed in at that moment. He sat down and stared into nothingness. He clearly wasn't awake yet. I grinned. "Genie surely wouldn't have said you look like DiCaprio if she had seen you like this", Heeseung laughed. Jay just looked at him, too tired to answer. Meanwhile, I was confused: "Genie? DiCaprio?" "Haven't I told you yesterday?", Heeseung wondered. I shook my head. This actually made Jay snap out of his daze. "Ey, you haven't told her about the most important thing?", he smirked. Heeseung rolled his eyes and turned to me, starting to explain: "Eugenia, the daughter of my host family, saw a picture of Jay and me and stated that our lovely, handsome Jay right here would resemble Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic."
I raised my eyebrow and looked at the appointed one who grinned proudly. I saw see the resemblance but didn't really want to admit it since Jay was so proud of it. "I bet Leonardo DiCaprio was more romantic than this sleepy dude", I declared instead. Jay's grin turned into a pout and I grinned. "But apart from that, I can't judge if she was right or wrong. I haven't seen Titanic yet", I added with a shrug. "You haven't?", Heeseung asked with wide eyes, "I thought you love romantic movies." "I do", I nodded. "I forbid her to watch it for as long as I am here", Jay chimed in, "I just know she will be sobbing the whole movie through and I don't know how to deal with her when she does." "And I don't want to watch it alone", I shrugged. Heeseung shook his head in disbelief.
"But one day", I announced, getting up and walking over to the fruit basket, "I'll watch it." I grabbed an apple and indicated a bow. "Gentlemen, you have to excuse me now, I have a café date I have to attend." "Maya?", Jay asked, not surprised by my choice of words. "Maya and Roxy, if you please", I corrected him, a bit sulky. "Roxy is in town too?", he asked surprised and I nodded. "Well, greetings from me to both", he ordered me and I promised to tell her before leaving them alone again.

I was excited to see my friends again. We haven't seen each other in forever since we all lived pretty far apart. And even this time we only had a today together. Maya arrived a few days ago, visiting her relatives while Roxy only stopped by for a day on her way back from vacation. We had planned to meet for brunch at a café, wander through the city for a bit and just enjoy the afternoon until Roxy had to leave again, alongside Maya.
I saw them already standing in front of the café and waved from afar. After a cheerful hello, we went inside and sat down at a table. We ordered and immediately started to update each other on what had happened since the last time we had been together. "How is Sunghoon doing?", Roxy asked. "Keeping my male friends in check as always", I shrugged grinning. "Who is it this time?", Maya laughed softly. "Heeseung", I answered. "Didn't he already know him?", she wanted to know. "I might have forgotten to tell him about the few times he visited Jay before going on the student's exchange", I confessed with my most innocent look. "Was he at least nice to him?", Roxy asked. "According to Jay he was a lot nicer than that disaster with Niki I told you about", I gave back. "At least. So Heeseung's over at yours again?", she went on. I nodded and saw both of them exchanging a knowing look. I furrowed my brows.
"What's with that expression?", I investigated. "Oh nothing", Maya grinned. "We just remembered the slight crush you had on Heeseung back then", Roxy added. I rolled my eyes grinning. "That's so long ago", I laughed. "Did it change?", Maya asked with low voice, coming a bit closer as if we were about to conspire. I shrugged. "Yes", I said. "Too bad, you would have been a good couple, I reckon", she pouted. "But what hasn't changed is that he is quite charming and lovely. And he looks even better now", I shrugged, "But after all, we're not here to discuss that. I heard Maya got accepted at the university of her dreams?" Luckily, the other two accepted my topic change right away and we went on talking about studying and organizing this new part of one's life.
Soon after, we left the coffee shop and continued to strive through the city, visiting our usual favourite places. Indifferent to our urge to spend more time together, the clock's hands wandered further and further and before we knew it, we had to say our goodbyes. I hugged the other two tightly as I saw their train approaching. Before they entered, Maya grinned at me brightly and shouted: "Keep us updated on Heeseung, you hear?" I blushed and nodded shyly right before the doors closed. I waved them until they were out of sight. Humming, I turned around and despite being sad that they had to leave already, I was fully satisfied with the day. With a carefree heart, I left the train station and got on my bus towards my apartment. Time to go home.
