Chapter 6
James’ POV
Everything around me was black, covered in darkness. Where was I? I had no clue.
I then realized I was sitting and that I was chained to the chair. Nervously I started to look around me, looking for my wand, but I couldn’t find it.
As if someone heard my thoughts, a small light turned on. It looked like a magically created light, but at the same time it was completely different. Dark, even.
That was the first time that I focused myself on what was in the small spot of light. With a shock I realized it was Sirius.
He looked up at me, his face covered in blood. ‘Help me, Prongs’ could be heard, even though his lips didn’t move. The next second he got hit by a spell and he started to scream.
I wanted to yell at whoever did this, begging him to stop, but there didn’t seem to come any sound out of my mouth.
As tears started to form in my eyes, Sirius’ torture stopped. The lights went to the next spot, a group this time. As I had to watch them scream in pain, I realized Remus, Lily and Sady weren’t there. Apprehensively I looked at the light that shifted once more.
It revealed the two girls laying on the ground in balls, trying to protect themselves. Just as I started to wonder against what, I heard that familiar howl. The well-known werewolf came running into the picture as he started to rip the girls apart, limp by limp.
When there wasn’t anything of them left, my cheeks already were so wet with tears that I wondered whether I could ever cry again. It was one bloody mess. Remus looked at me with those insane eyes, showing his teeth in a monstrous crimson red grin.
I felt hands tugging my shoulder, and I looked to my left. It was Sirius, a dead glare in his eyes. ‘You betrayed them, James. You’re a traitor’ he kept repeating, his lips still sealed. All I wanted to do was to scream. Then, his fingers closed around my neck…
I screamed as I sat up, all of a sudden wide awake.
I saw Remus and Sirius standing next to my bed, looking terribly worried.
I felt welt, probably from my own sweat. My cheeks were covered in tears, just as in the nightmare. I stared at my hands. The hands that couldn’t do anything against the torturing of my friends. A small stream of blood came through at the places where my nails had pierced the skin.
‘James?’ Sirius asked, his voice sounding completely different than it just had done in my head. I didn’t react. What was I supposed to say?
‘JAMES!’ he then yelled into my ear, practically deafening me. He continued tugging my shoulder, trying to get me out of the trance or whatever I was in.
That was the moment I broke. It’s so weird that just one little dream can do this to you, but I broke. It just was too much at the moment.
I started to cry again, leaving Remus and Sirius to stare at me with this super concerned glare of them. Then they sat down at either side of me, trying to comfort me.
‘It was just a dream, Prongsie. Just a dream’ I heard Sirius say. It sounded so far away, but at the same time so close. This statement seemed to calm me down a bit, because the next thing I remember is that I wasn’t crying anymore but just staring in front of me.
After a few minutes of peaceful silence, Sirius broke it. ‘Care to share the reason of this little breakdown?’ he asked. I didn’t look at him but from the sounds he was making I could conclude that Remus hit him on the back of his head.
What was I supposed to tell them? “Yeah, at first, you got tortured and practically killed, then everyone I care about, and then Remus came in and he ate Lily and Sady and then you said that I betrayed everyone…” yeah right. They would declare me a lunatic.
Without another word I got up and walked to the bathroom.
The ice-cold water started running over my hands. This had a calming effect. As I felt calm enough, I threw a splash of water straight into my face.
I then looked at myself in the mirror, which seemed to calm me down even more. But what dream Sirius had said wouldn’t leave my head. “You betrayed them, James. You’re a traitor”
A/N:
Hey guys! Sorry for the short chapter... Or the fact that it didn't make sense at all..
I wrote this like 2 weeks ago in my history notebook until the moment Sirius started yelling in James' ear, and then I wrote the rest today. And I felt all Marauderish, so I decided to type it out.
I have no idea whether it fits the story at the moment. I think it does, actually...
It's the day or morning after, or whatever... Yeah xD
I'd love to get into James his head a bit more often, so, if you guys don't mind, I will. But I won't forget Sady, of course not! :D
Well, WHAT DID YOU THINK??????
OH and dedication goes to DawnXx (again) for making this awesome new cover :D
Please Vote, Comment, Fan and Enjoy! :D
