"I'm so happy you took me out for my birthday" I smiled as me & Rico sat down.

Today was my birthday so Rico decided to take me out to dinner at Maggiano's.

"Ain't shit" He shrugged looking over the menu.

"Can you drop me off at this hotel after? Imani and them throwing me a lingerie party" I smiled.

"Ain't you too old for that shit?" He looked up at me.

"I'm only 26 Rico jeez.." I mumbled.

"Mhmm. You know watchu want?" He asked.

"Yea. Can we talk after we look at the menu? I really wanna enjoy this moment. You know we barely go out-"

"Why everything gotta be planned witchu? Just vibe" He said.

"Sorry" I covered my face with my menu.

He grabbed it slowly moving it down making me grow nervous.

"What?" I laughed.

"Happy birthday" He pushed a black box towards me.

My eyes widened as I quickly grabbed it. I opened it thinking it was an engagement ring only for it to be a small diamond necklace.

"Is this real?" I looked at him.

"Duh. I can't have your neck turning green" He chuckled.

"I love it" I studied it.

"You thought it was an engagement ring didn't you?" He looked at me.

"No" I lied.

"Yes you did." He frowned.

"Ok I did but-"

"One day Bri. Ight?" He grabbed my hand.

I looked into his eyes seeing if he was serious and he was.

"I love you" I smiled.

"I love you too" He said looking back at his menu.

Our waiter walked up to us smiling.

"Hi how are you? My name is Loretta and I'll be your server today. Are you two ready to start off on some drinks?" She smiled.

"Hi and yes I'll have a Martini" I said.

"Okay and for you?" She looked at Rico who was staring at his phone.

"Oh uh lemme get a coke" He said looking up.
