Dash's Graduation day, November 2026...

Like a toaster ready to serve toast, Dash's eyes popped open the next morning after his heated practice with Nettes the night before. He beamed wider than usual. His smile could be seen through his eyes and the rest of his face. Today was no ordinary day, it was Dash's final day at the academy. More than ready to take on the world, he packed his things the night before ready to get the hell out of there. His dorm-mates Rush and Del looked at him with growing concern...

"What the hell is wrong with him this morning?" Rush whispered.

"Dunno... it's kind of creeping me out." Del added.

"Me too. Do you think that he's... planning something?" Rush asked.

"Yeah... yeah, I think he could be. Doesn't hurt to ask." Del said.

"Hey... Dash." Rush said.

"Yes?" Dash asked happily.

"Why in the Manufacturer are you smiling?" Rush perked up, thoroughly confused.

"W-what do you mean?" Dash remarked.

"It's just... I don't think I've seen you smile like that in... forever!" Rush noted.

"Um, Rush... you do know what day it is, right?" El chimed in.

"Well, yeah. Graduation day." Rush said.

Dash squealed with glee to himself upon hearing that sentiment, beaming even wider than before.

"Ah, is that what you're smiling about?" Rush realized.

"I'm just ecstatic, over the moon honestly!" Dash exclaimed.

"It just... feels uber weird to see you so happy after so long." Rush noted.

"From tomorrow onward, I don't have to see Nettes' stupid, ugly hood!" Dash exclaimed ecstatically.

"Hey, before you get hyped up on hate juice..." El quipped.

"Here comes the lovey-dovey stuff." Rush whispered to Del.

"Ooh! Aren't they the cutest?" Del added.

"I want you to know that I'm grateful we've gotten to know each other over the last few years." El said.

"You know, same here, El. I've never said anything, but we really do make a good team. We all do." Dash agreed happily, smiling.

"This'll happen soon, I can tell." Rush said aloud.

"Yeah, I can totally see this happening." Del agreed.

"Eugh. Guys!" El scoffed.

"Keep your hood out of the gutter, please! El and I don't like it!" Dash exclaimed.

It would seem that Del and Rush made a habit of putting El and Dash together given their rather close rapport. The light teasing was at a constant, but it would be the least of his problems at that moment...

KNOCK, KNOCK

"Boltarius, may we speak privately for a second?" Nettes said.

Just like that in the span of a millisecond, Dash lost his smile and caved in on himself. Rush, Del and El all silently left the room without prompt. They could tell this wasn't going to end well.

"What's the problem?" Dash said flatly, averting eye-contact.

"Make sure you're prepared for tonight. It's a big night." Nettes requested.
