                    Noel and the end of Oasis

You had just sat down on the couch to watch your movie when your phone went off. You picked it up and saw Noel was calling you. You were a bit confused as you knew he was playing a show tonight in Paris, so you answered quickly. Before you could even say hello, you heard Noel crying on the line. You knew something really bad must've happened for Noel to be crying this hard. You calmed him down and asked what was going on.

Noel told you everything that had happened. Him and Liam had been at odds end before many a times, but this past year everything was even worse. After they had finished recording their new album Dig Out Your Soul, the fights between him and Liam just escalated. Noel couldn't even stand to be around Liam, even on the tour. They took separate buses, stayed in separate dressing rooms, and wouldn't even look at each other on stage. Gem and Andy got tired of having to be mediators between them.

Whenever you did see or talk with Noel, you could tell something wasn't right with him. He always looked tired and sad, even on the phone he sounded exhausted. You had just put it down to tiredness from touring, but didn't realize it was this bad. You let Noel continue as you took in everything he was saying. He finally came to what had happened tonight. Noel told you that he was sitting in the dressing room with Gem & Andy when Liam came walking in yelling about something. Noel tried to ignore him but he kept yelling and cussing out everyone. Noel didn't know why Liam was so angry but he didn't care for it. Liam agitated by this threw a plum at the wall and walked out. Noel thought that was the end of his tantrum but moments later Liam came back into the room with one of Noel's guitars and was swinging it around and eventually broke it in half. Everyone sat silently just staring at Liam. Noel couldn't take it anymore and just walked out of the room. Noel said he came straight to the car and just sat and burst into tears. He didn't know what to do so he decided to call you.

You almost wanted to cry yourself but you needed to be there for Noel. You wished you could just be right beside him and comfort him. There was a moment of silence from Noel's end but then he spoke again. He said he was thinking of quitting the band. This news shocked you. You always knew their fights were bad but didn't ever think it would be bad enough for Noel to stop making music. It was his passion and what he had known his whole life. Noel wanted your opinion on what he should do. He said that he didn't know if he could ever work with Liam again in a calm matter. You told him that it's his choice and that he needs to think about himself and do what feels right to him. You told him that whatever he does that you will always be there and support him.

Noel's end was quiet but you both stayed on the line. You could hear him breathing deeply as he was thinking. A few minutes later Noel said he had made his choice and that he was leaving the band. You told him you understood his choice and that you were going to get the next flight to Paris to be with him. As you made your way to the airport you saw the statement Noel had made on the Oasis website.

"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

You knew it was actually happening but all you wanted to do was to be with Noel. The whole plane ride over all you could think about was seeing Noel. You knew he would be sad, tired, angry all of them, but you just wanted to take that all away from him. You finally made it to Paris and went to find Noel. You arrived at the hotel he was staying at and ran to his room. You knocked on the door and Noel came to open it. You saw him standing in the doorway with the saddest look on his face. You immediately hugged him and gave him a long kiss. After you both let go, you hugged him even longer and tighter, making sure you let him know he was loved. He thanked you for coming to be with him. You and Noel sat on the bed and Noel laid his head down in your lap. You brushed his hair with your hands and asked him how he felt. Noel said that he was just tired of everything and needed to get away from it all. Noel said he ignored every call or text from anybody dealing with the band and just wanted to see you and was very happy and relieved that you came. You asked him if he knew what he was going to do next. He said he didn't know but whatever he did, it was to be with his and your happiness in mind. You smiled and gave him another kiss. You and Noel laid on the bed, not knowing what the future would hold but knowing it would be together.
