-Christian's P.O.V-

"This is so freeing!" Kaydan screams over the wind. "Do you always drive with the top down?"

I shake my head not wanting to yell, but seeing how he's been screaming the entire time, I already know he won't notice my lack of response.

When we finally arrive and I unbuckle my seatbelt.

He takes a final breath and looks at me. "That. was. AWESOME!"

I laugh out loud. "Glad you liked it," I reach out to close the roof, but he rests his hand on mine stopping me. "What's up?"

He smiles. "It's always so nice to hear you laugh."

"Ew," I groan moving away from him. "I hate my laugh."

"Why?"

I shrug.

He shakes his head at me as we both leave the car. "Here we are!"

I look in front of me and see Wayne's. I lock eyes with Kaydan. "Really?"

"I still haven't really gotten to know this area and I was too focused on getting to ride with you to look up any places," he admits shyly.

I nudge his shoulder with my own. "How can I stay mad at you with an answer like that?"

"I was thinking we could walk around the area and find something here?"

"Okay," I smile. I reach down and take his hand in mine, making sure to intertwine our fingers.

He leans into me and grabs onto my arm with his free hand. "Aren't you glad you skipped now?"

I kiss the top of his head. "I wish I were in my own shirt and pants, but I guess being with you takes precedence."

"I think you look good in everything, so I agree," he chimes in easily. "It was very nice of Adam to let you borrow some clothes from the lost and found."

"You mean Mr. H? It's his job," I say as we turn the corner.

"Yes, but he's also a cool guy, don't you think?"

"What do you mean?"

"Before you showed up he was telling me about the school and some of the teachers. He's pretty hilarious! His sarcasm is some of the best I've heard!" He laughs remembering.

I can be sarcastic too.

I clear my throat hoping to get his attention back. "That's nice and all, but we're here." I motion in front of me.

He looks up and reads the restaurant's sign out loud. "Hank's Hoagies?" He looks back at me. "You like hoagies?"

"It's basically a fancy sandwich. Unless you want something else?"

He shakes his head. "This is perfect! I didn't even know it existed."

"It seems like you don't know a lot of things," I reply opening the door for him.

He releases my arm and hand to walk in. "Gee, thanks." He says with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

I hurry in behind him saying, "I was kidding!"

"Welcome in," the cashier greets us.

Kaydan waves before narrowing his eyes at me. "Definitely wasn't one of your best jokes."
