-Kaydan's P.O.V-

Okay, okay. I'll admit that I let the whole Simon thing get in my head, but that was definitely not the way to go about it.

I glare at my reflection in the steam-covered mirror.

Jealousy is a gross color, and no matter how well I wear it I've grown out of it! If he liked Simon he wouldn't still be with me. Christian is the kind of guy who would just tell me straight out. Yes.

I smile at myself. "Yes."

But I have to ask to make sure, right?

I lower my eyebrows. "No. Bad Idea."

See, I was thinking that too, I just had to hear me say it out loud...say it out loud?

"Hey Christian, if you loved Simon now, you'd tell me, right?" I finish laughing. I stop abruptly.

Absolutely not!

"So what do I do?"

For starters?

"Stop talking to myself like this is some kind of movie plot. Right," I straighten out my T-shirt. It's blue with a frocket. Very nice fabric. "Come to think of it, I'm kind of hungry now too. I haven't eaten all day." I exit the bathroom and can smell the garlic from downstairs. I put some pep in my step and make it down faster.

Kenneth is in the kitchen and Christian is hiding in a ball on the couch.

"Kaydan!" Kenneth exclaims running up to me to hug me. "We can finally talk!"

I mentally slap myself. I totally forgot about him at the restaurant! I feel like a total ass! "Kenneth-"

"Don't even start!" He continues leading me to the kitchen away from Christian. "I know you were just busy! It happens to all of us!" He sits me down at the counter across from the kitchen. "I just wanted to know if I ever...bother you?"

"Not that I know of?" I answer puzzled, yet honest.

A sigh of relief escapes him. "I knew it! My son was claiming otherwise!"

"No sir! If you bothered me, trust me, you'd know." I finish watching him mash something in a pot. While he's distracted I take a small peek behind me at Christian. "Quick question though," I start looking back at him.

"What's up?"

"Why is Christian-"

"He was like that when I came in."

I nod slowly and let him get back to work. "What are you-"

"Currently making?" He completes for me, "garlic mashed-potatoes." He grabs a nearby bowl and slops some potatoes into it. "All the stuff was already out, so I decided to get started. It's a secret recipe of mine, so you've lucked out!" He slides the bowl in front of me and shoots me a wink. "Tell me how it is."

I search the counter for eating utensils and find none. Kenneth turned away seconds ago, and I didn't want to bother him again. I shrug and go for the potatoes with my pointer finger. Once I have secured some I quickly bring it to my mouth. My eyes widen as the soft mush contacts my tongue.

Oh my God. This is...words cannot express how amazing this tastes. Is this even made from stuff produced on Earth? Impossible. I won't believe it. No.
