Chapter 8 || 𝒩𝑒𝓌 vibe

This chapter will be a bit longer than the previous chapters.

"Naaaww~~ look at you two bonding."

"What's that supposed to mean??" I retaliated.
Tendou smiled at me cheekily and spoke,
"Oh nothing just that you're actually talking to eachother."
I scrunched up my face and puffed out my cheeks in a pout. My fingers curled into the palms of my hands as I tightly clenched my fists.
"We do talk to eachother~" I whined.

Tendou scoffed, "uhuh since when? You decided to eye him off at practice?".
A blush dusted my cheeks, "excuse me? I do not 'eYe HiM oFf', he's just a great player! Also I talked to him when we met..." I trailed off.
"Psh please talking about what to make in animal crossing isn't real talking." He retorted.

"Yes it is." Me and Ushijima said at the same time. Tendou smirked at us, seemingly proving whatever point he thought he was making. I rolled my eyes, not understanding his point.
"I never said bonding was a bad thing."
He said and sat on the left side of the couch, leaving me in the middle and Ushijima on the right.

For a moment, we all sat in silence and I'll be honest- I'm not sure if it was awkward or comfortable.
Eventually Ushijima spoke, "Tendou we should play animal crossing."
I turned to him with stars in my eyes,"YES!! We should play animal crossing!" I beamed.
"Oh hell no I'm not playing something gushy tonight guys c'mon... beside dude it's your turn for a shower, do that and then we'll decide." Tendou complained.

The monster's nose twitched a little, and then wrinkled just in the slightest.
"Hmph" he grunted, and stood disappearing down the hallway.
'Hehe that nose twitch was cute.. wait what are you thinking (y/n)??' I thought and my lips were drawn up a bit. I slapped myself in the face and looked at Tendou. Distracting myself, "Can we please play animal crossing??" I begged.

"C'mon (y/n) please, it's all he ever wants to play. I'll let you guys play it some other time but I would really like to play something else." Tendou pleaded. I looked into his constantly half lidded eyes that shone with hope.
"Fine I'll agree to play a different game.. what about Apex?" I asked him
He smiled and immediately worked to get the game going.

The rest of the night was spent doing pretty much just that. Playing Apex and chattering. I got to know Ushijima a lot better and I'd like to think I'll start considering him a friend. He obviously enjoys volleyball and I discovered he is left handed; which he was surprised by the fact that I hadn't noticed during practice. He also really enjoys hayashi rice a lot... like sparkles in his eyes a lot. Eventually we had all gone to bed, me obviously retiring to my own room with Udon.

Bright rays of light shone through the curtains of my room when I next awoke and I grumbled and groaned about it. I simply refused to be awake and tossed and turned trying to find the sweet spot for the return to full hypersomnia. However I never go the chance as I heard excessive amount of knocking on my door and an all too familiar voice calling for me.

Sitting up I glared at the door.
"Go away" I said.
To my deep displeasure the door was swung open and there stood Tendou and Ushijima both fully dressed and groomed for the day. In shock I squealed and through the covers over my head huddling under them.
"I said go away Satori!" I shouted muffled by my blankets.
"No way (n/n)-Chan! We have places to be." He said and yanked the blankets from me.

He had revealed my sleepy form to the world, or more precisely himself and Ushijima. There I sat with major bed head, a silky sage coloured singlet, with one strap hanging down and some sporty looking booty shorts that were too big in the hips. In a matter of seconds my face hand becoming bright red and I started screaming as if all hell had broken loose.
"TENDOU SATORI GET THE FUCK OUT! OUT OUT OUT, I SAY OUT!!" I shouted.

I grabbed the slipper from next to my bed and ditched it at his head, he yelped and dropped my blankets running to the door and slammed it. Absolutely fuming I screamed a little more and then got dressed. If whatever he wanted was so important he had to embarrass me like that in front of his friend then I would humour him.

I brushed my hair into a pony tail and then divided it into sections like those indie kids do. Quickly checking myself out in my mirror I examined every part of my outfit. I wore a black V neck jump suit with some black and maroon Doc Martens and a black belt. On my ears were two gold rose shaped earnings and I had a ring I could spin on my left index finger.

Satisfied I made my way downstaires where the boys sat eating protein yoghurt, neither noticing me.
"Ok what did you want??" I asked him popped out and arms crossed.
Both turned to me but Tendou was the one to speak first.
"Miracle boy here has discovered a cool candy store and cafe and wanted you to come." He smiled devilishly.

For some reason the gesture made my heart beat just that little bit faster and a slight pink dusted my cheeks.
"Oh is that so.." I mumbled a small smile making it's way to my cheeks.
'Godamn why has that got me so flustered, it's just what any friend would do?' I thought baffled as to how I had become this gushy mess.

I glanced at Ushijima, then away and then I looked back to Tendou.
"I suppose I wouldn't mind coming." I stated nonchalantly.
"Fantastic, then it's a plan!" Tendou beamed and a small smile was on Ushijima's face.
As I looked over at Ushijima I felt it again...

We looked into eachothers eyes for what felt like forever until he looked away.

"We should get going"
