Chapter 8: When Things Are Finally Going Well

"Oh uh well.." I said. "Ugh what should I do? Elijah told me to stop hanging out with him but I'd feel bad if I do that.." I thought. Samuel noticed my hesitation and quickly said "Uh it's okay if you have other plans, we can hang out next time." Looking at those nice and sincere eyes made me feel guilty if I declined so I just said "No, I don't have other plans. I'll hang out with you guys later." I said smiling at him. He smiled then asked "Great! Is 5:45 pm in ********** good for you?" "Hmm sure" I replied. "Alright. Don't forget to bring your own money 'cause we'll all be paying for our own." He said while forcing himself to not laugh. I laughed then said "Yeah, I know. Well, I'll be buying my lunch now." "Oh sure, bye Evelyn." Samuel said. "Bye Sam, bye Allen." "Bye Evelyn." Allen said.

I then left them and walked towards the store selling spicy noodles. "Well, I'll just agree to this dinner then the next time he ask me I'll decline. He was just really genuine earlier." I thought as I was paying my money to the owner. I took my food then took a seat and started eating. After lunch I went to my classes and did my usual routine. A few hours later my last class just ended. I put my book, notebook, ball pen and other stuff inside my backpack. I walked back towards my dorm then changed my clothes. I then heard a "BZZZZ" from my phone on the table. I opened my phone and saw a message from Elijah.

5:14 pm

Elijah: Hey Eve. How are you?

Evelyn: Hi Elijah. I'm okay hbu?

Elijah: I'm okay too. So do you have plans later?

Evelyn: No, why?

Elijah: Oh, nothing I was just curious.

Evelyn: Oh well okay

Evelyn: I just got back to my dorm and I still need to fix my things

So I gotta go. Let's talk next time.

Elijah: Oh, sure. Bye Eve

Evelyn: Bye

"Weird.. Why did he suddenly ask me that? Wait did he find out about dinner later? No- it can't be. Well maybe he is just actually curious." I thought as I fixed my things.

At 5:36 pm I went outside my dorm then went towards the restaurant. At 5:45 pm I got there and I saw Samuel, Maya, Allen and Jade already waiting. "Hi guys, where's Poppy?" I asked. "She's coming, she's just a little late." Jade said. "Ohh I see." I said. After two minutes she came then said "Sorry I'm late, I just remembered I had a homework I forgot to do so I quickly did it and sent it." "It's alright. Now let's go inside." Samuel said. Then we all went inside the restaurant. We picked a table for six then sat down. The restaurant was selling lots of delicious beef, chicken and more and so I ordered a beef steak. We all ate, talked to each other and laughed. After about thirty minutes we all finished eating. "That was really yummy." I said. "Yeah, I enjoyed the drinks a lot." Jade said. "Same! We should go again here next time." Poppy said. "I agree." May said. We then stood up and went towards the counter paying. As I was paying for my food I suddenly heard a familiar voice coming from my back. "Eve?"
