ᶜʰᵃᵖᵗᵉʳ ᵒⁿᵉ. "ᵖʳᵉᵛⁱᵒᵘˢˡʸ"

sae-bom was growing annoyed. despite having gotten used to it already, the cuffs on her wrists were tighter than usual. maybe it was because of the bitchy police officer that was transporting her back today, he was the one who cuffed her.

she glanced over to ha-neul, who noticed her discomfort, seeing a small snicker on his face. he was around his mid-twenties, and one of the usual police officers that always teased her about getting another strike on her record.

she brought her cuffed wrists up to his eye view, raising her middle fingers up at him. officer kang, the other officer, noticed this. sighing annoyedly, he spoke.

"get your fingers down, sae-bom, or i'm taking you back to the station." her mouth dropped in disbelief as ha-neul only proceeded to laugh at her more, trying to hide it but had failed. the other officer noticed this as well. "you too ha-neul. i'm suspending you if you continue to tease her. you're not a child."

"he may not be a child but he fucking acts like one..." sae-bom muttered to her self, leaning her head against the window as she watched the car near hyosan high school.

as usual, she was heading back to school, in cuffs, after she was brought in to the station once again. it had become a normal occurence, so normal that sae-bom had managed to become friends with the police officers there.

but that didn't mean she wasn't in trouble. just because she got close with them didn't mean that they wouldn't keep her in jail. actually, they would keep her in there at some nights, then bring her to school the next day. her mother began to grow annoyed at her eldest daughter, so she just let the people at the station handle her. she'd still punish her daughter, but with more verbal shouts and forced her to do more chores and such.

but sae-bom didn't mind. she had nothing else to do in life, so why not just live it to the fullest?

her grades were definitely not the best, and she was surely not going to go to any good colleges if she continued with them. her dream job was surely not going to be achieved if she kept up with going to jail.

"oi! i can hear you back there, you brat!" officer ha-neul exclaimed, looking accusingly at the girl. "and you can't talk! you're the one who did something stupid that got your ass in a cell again. you're definitely getting a bigger earful from your mother tonight now."

she groaned, closing her eyes. "don't remind me. i should probably stop causing trouble and focus on studies..."

the bitchy officer scoffed. "as if. you having to stop getting in trouble and focusing on studies? give me a break. you said that a few months ago and guess where you are now."

"in police car with her hands cuffed!" ha-neul sang in a sing-song voice, just to annoy the girl.

"hey, you were a troublemaker too! hyun-sik said you used to get in trouble a lot back then during high school!" hyun-sik was another officer, but he was much older than both the men before the girl. he was more chill, one of sae-bom's gossip buddies on a cell night.

ha-neul widened his eyes. "he's lying! i was a good child!"

kang scoffed again. "he's the one lying. i may have only been a new officer when you were younger, but i've seen you a couple of times in and out. i'm still surprised you managed to join the police with your record."

"it's because you believed in me! and said that you'd give me a spot here cause you noticed my potential." the younger officer explained, relaxing onto the car seat.

sae-bom did the same, slouching on the seat. "i aspire to be like you, officer ha-neul. except, i want to be better. maybe i can join SOU, they seem cooler."

"are you discriminating our station?" the younger gasped in a dramatic-offended tone, whereas kang simply laughed.

"yeah that's true, you'd have the physical and decisive skills." kang stated. "maybe if you cleared your record for a while, then there's a chance for you to join. study as well. maybe clear your tattoos-"

"now that's asking too much." sae-bom mumbled. "these tattoos hurt like shit and removal hurts more! i'm not getting rid of these!"

the two police officers chuckled, kang driving the police car towards the school's front gate. "just a suggestion, kid."

as they were parked right beside the gate, and sae-bom could see one of the staff teachers standing there, his usual annoying face displaying an annoyed look. school hadn't started, and students were still filling in the school.

they grew accustomed to the police car entering, knowing it's sae-bom again. officer kang got out of the car, as well as ha-neul, and sae-bom just sat there as they let the adults talk. she waited for them to finish, and when they were, kang opened the car for her to get out.

sae-bom gave the man a fake smile, corners of her eyes wrinkling as ha-neul unlocked her cuffs.. "hi sir."

he sent her a fake one back, nodding his head. "sae-bom. how was your night in a cell?"

"better than how your wife feels after having to spend a night with you." she answered, taking her bag that ha-neul gave her. said-officer choke on a laugh, getting slapped at the back of his head by his senior as a way of telling him to be quiet.

before the teacher could retort, sae-bom turned around to the two officers. she bowed at them. "thanks for dropping me off, the cuffs were a bit too tight but i guess it's alright. just be careful with your wife though, officer kang, i don't think it sets the mood when it's too tight-"

"get to your class and stop with the inappropriate jokes, sae-bom." the officer cut her off, sighing tiredly at her. he looked at the watch on his wrist. "it's too early and i'm already exhausted just from dealing with this kid..."

sae-bom grinned at this. she looked at her teacher, then to the officers. "i'll see you guys next time! see ya!"

and with that, the girl darted off into the school gates, leaving the three men there. ha-neul and kang looked at each other. "my bet's tonight. her mom's going to make her come back to the station and apologise."

ha-neul scoffed. "like she'd actually do that. my bet's tomorrow morning. her mom will realise she didn't apologise and would drag her ass to the station before school."

and as the two officers suggested when the next time sae-bom would come to the station, they shook hands. a bet was placed.
