the girl stood right before the window, watching as the sky was slowly morphing into a golden orange colour. the lustrous feeling of the sunset rays bouncing against her skin, as a lit cigarette rested on her hand, as the girl puffed out a cloud of smoke.
yes. a good smoke was what she needed at the moment.
the feeling of the nicotine rushing throughout her system, the drug releasing a sense of pleasure, adrenaline, and energy throughout her brain.
sae-bom enjoyed it. especially as she watched the zombies below walk around carelessly, as there were no humans for them to prey on.
well, maybe not the zombie part. she was upset that she wasn't at home right now, but she was relieved to know that her mother and sister was safe. she had called ha-neul earlier, asking how things were going at their side.
he said they were alright, their house secured and such, and they were waiting for the rescue team to get them. however, that was hours ago. she had texted them already, even calling them multiple times in the time being she was inside this room on the second floor, but there was no response.
her mother wasn't answering, ha-neul wasn't answering, and she couldn't call se-bin because the six-year-old didn't have any sort of communication. so she just hoped that they all had their phones off so that the zombies outside wouldn't hear them. she wasn't going to think of any negatives that may have had happened to them.
now, she just wanted to clear her mind, and what best way to do so if not smoking and listening to music? at first, she thought that smoking would've attracted the zombies towards her, but she didn't care enough so she just lit one up. turns out that they have shit smelling skills, and can only notice you by sound or if they see you.
sae-bom looked at her phone, sighing as no messages were displayed. she had texted at least a couple of people now (her family, ha-neul, mi-jin, ha-ri, gyeong-su, wu-jin, and a bunch of other people she was worried about), yet none of them responded. maybe it's because majority of the people she texted had been students here, and as far as she knew, everyone's phones were in the teachers room and not on the students.
but she at least expected ha-ri or mi-jin to respond. the archer was at a tournament, and should have her phone with her, and mi-jin always had her phone with her. so she only grew even more worried as none of those two responded to her messages.
sae-bom pulled the cigar from her lip, inspecting the orangely-lit end of the smoke. she then looked back down onto the grass on the bottom. maybe, if she dropped this lit-blunt, she could burn the school down along with the zombies in it. then the rest of hyosan wouldn't have to worry about a spread.
though, that's only if it hadn't already spread.
the girl let out a sigh, deciding to go against the plan. she inhaled once again, exhaling with a puff of smoke blowing out onto the fucked up air surrounding their infested school. she really needed a plan to get out of here, and her best pan yet was to run down towards the bus shed and drive out of this place.
but that was difficult itself. the shed was all the way across the school, not to mention the multiple z's running around.
the blunt was about to finish, sae-bom simply stomping the butt and leaving it by the sill, making sure that it was already out. she stood up straight, turning back around to face the empty classroom. she had already secured the doors, as well as making sure that the windows on the doors were blocked by papers. the windows on the walls towards the hallways were already covered, as there were tall shelves standing in the way.
the girl was pretty safe in the room, though she knew that she wouldn't be if she stayed for too long.
she then looked backout the window, not realising how fast time was passing as she was in her mind state. it was already dimming, the moon rising as the sky was changing to a darker colour. that's a good thing, she could wait until it was fully dark, and escape then.
she checked the time on her phone, reading 6:59 pm. her eyes then darted to the top corner of her screen, realising her phone was on 11%.
she walked towards the teacher's desk (where she kept her bag), taking out her powerbank and plugging her phone in. between sae-bom and her phone, at least one of them needed to stay alive.
she sat down onto the rolley-chair, reclining it a bit backwards so that she had gotten into a comfier angle. maybe she could take a short nap. the cell she slept on last night was rough, and did not do her back good.
she was a light sleeper either way, so even if the zombies outside decided to bang their heads against the door, she would wake up in an instant. so sae-bom could say that she would be alright.

it wasn't even long until sae-bom was suddenly woken up. a loud, sobbing scream was what she could hear outside the room, and being the nice person she was, she decided to help out whoever was out there. as far as she knew, no zombie could scream like a normal human would.
groaning as she stood up, she walked towards the door near the staircase, flipping one of the papers up so that she could see what was out there. so far, it was clear, but she could still hear someone screaming. she then turned her hand towards the longer end, lazily raising a brow at the male running and crying as a horde of zombies followed him close behind.
"gyeong-su?"
