the two police officers were currently covering their arms and calves with magazines and tape from the restaurant they were in. jae-ik, the detective, was currently wrapping some on se-bin's biceps, tapping it securely.

"does it hurt?" jae-ik asked, looking eye-to-eye at the young girl as he was kneeling down in front of her. "it's not too tight, is it?" seeing a nod of confirmation, the male continued taping it up.

"sergeant..." the voice of the other police officer, ho-cheol, murmured through the quiet air. "i was thinking... we should probably use our skills to get ourselves out of here first, and then send an army in for the kids after, you know?"

jae-ik didn't turn around to glance at the male, ignoring him as he continued to place the tape on the girls' arm.

ho-cheol let out an exasperated sigh, not looking away from the male. "if we all die, who's going to tell them about the important laptop--"

"ho-seong." jae-ik interrupted him, not faltering in his movements. he continued to wrap the tape around the young girl's forearms, keeping a calm demeanour in front of her.

"ho-cheol." the officer quickly corrected him.

"ho-cheol. do you know why some people run to safety when they're in danger?" jae-ik asked, still not looking back at him as he made sure that the young girl was secure. not hearing a response, jae-ik continued. "because there are others who are running into danger for them."

"why put ourselves into danger if there's no reason to?" ho-cheol continued arguing back, still not seeing the point.

this seemed to really tick the detective off, finally looking back at the stubborn officer, standing up. "you're so frustrating. i ought to just-- if you die, i'll put in a request with the higher ups for a statue of you as big as the one of admiral yi sun-sin. okay? happy?"

ho-cheol cowered away from the nearing-detective, who looked as if he really wanted to hit him with the tape dispenser. muttering something incoherent, jae-ik tore off a strip of tape, placing it over the officer's mouth.

"if you're feeling scared, you could  just stay here." se-bin commented, looking towards the previously-cowering officer.

jae-ik looked over at the young kid, a thoughtful look on his face. "goodness, that's very well put---"

jae-ik's words were interrupted by the sound of zombies running away, well rather, running towards something else. this captured the attention of the three people inside the restaurant, with jae-ik taking initiative and walking towards the glass doors. he could hear the sound of a car alarm beeping rapidly, leading him to think that a zombie probably just landed on a car or something.

however, the sound of the door handle rapidly being shook, along with a sudden figure up a the door caused him to turn back around.

he didn't know the guy, but he wore the police station's uniform. he was tall, completely disheveled and covered in blood, but the frustrated look on his face caused him to believe that it wasn't a zombie.

"don't open it! he probably got bitten!" ho-cheol screamed out.

however, it was se-bin's cry that caused him to open the door immediately. "ha-neul!"
