If someone told you that you would end up moving and doing something that's unspeakable then you would think they are crazy.

You have been jobless for sometime now, you needed a job bad or you and your wife, Carol, would end up on the street, you tried your best to get hired by any company but you never made it past the interview.

You never understood what you did wrong but at least Carol worked part time at some fast food restaurant, she was a good wife and never once yelled at you for not finding a job.

Even though she was a good wife, you and her never had a spark between the two of you, even sex wasn't that exciting anymore, but the only reason you two married was to survive.

Nevertheless you would never try to hurt her intentionally even if you never found that spark, you always told yourself that maybe one day something will click and you kept to that.

You walked through the door as the smell of food filled your nose, it was a good day when food was on the table, especially cooked food. You smiled as you walked through the kitchen door, but it dropped when you saw some guy sitting at your table.

"And who are you?" You questioned as you stared at the man.

He smiled slightly nervous and looked at your wife who just rolled her eyes "Don't worry Mike, this is my wife Y/n"

You just stared at them and still stuck to your question "Who are you?"

He stood up as he reached to shake your hand, you hesitantly shook his hand as he answered "I am your wives manger, I just needed something fixed, I will be on my way"

You looked past the man at your wife "Nonsense, eat with us"

She stiffened at your words and then forced a smile upon her lips as she nodded "Of course, how silly of me to not propose that"

You nodded as you pointed to the man to sit back down, and he did as you announced "Well, I wasn't exactly expecting guests but I have news"

Carol looked over at you a little surprised "Well what is it honey?"

You reached for her hand with a smile "I finally got a job"

She smiled widely as she squeezed your hand "Where?!"

Now you had a wide smile "In New York"

She froze at your words and the mans eyes widen, she squealed as she threw herself at you "Oh my god! New York!"

"Babe are you hearing this?!" She asked, her question was aimed at the man that sat across from you, you nodded and so did he but you didn't notice since she was covering him with her body that was hugging you.

"We don't even need to look for a place, the company is willing to give me an apartment not far from the company" You spoke with excitement in your voice as Carol pulled away from you.

"Oh my god, that's so good" She was genuinely happy for you and for her.

You looked over at the man who was slightly uncomfortable "Are you okay there?"

He looked up at you with a forced smile "Of course, I just remembered that I'm needed somewhere"

You nodded as Carol stood up "Well then let me walk you to the door"

You raised your brow at her but dismissed it as her just being nice, yous rarely had anyone over, usually because there wasn't any money to host people so you watched as she excused herself to you and walked the man back.
