"When I met you, i was so lonely that time. I was an ass back then but you changed me, you thought me how to appreciate everyone's effort around me. You thought me how to appreciate the efforts of my employees. It's like I was drowning and you saved me. So now I'm asking you Meredith Grey, Will you mary me? Are you willing to be future Mrs. Meredith Sheperd?" asked Derek while kneeling in front of Meredith on the seashore.
A warm set of tear started streaming on Meredith's rosy cheeks. "Yes!! Yes, I will marry you!!"she said while jumping because of the joy on her heart.
Derek put the ring on Meredith's ring finger, she hugged him so tight and started crying while whispering "I love you so much". "I love you more" he replied while hugging her tighter.
Writer's POV
It's been five years since Andrew left, he flew to Paris, France in the hopes to be successful on Arts and Design. They lost communication a year after he left. Meredith is also a designer, she's now engaged to the CEO of an Arts and Design company, Derek Shepherd. They started dating 3 years ago, they met on Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital while both donating blood. Now they're happily engaged.
After the proposal...
"Oh My God!!! Congratulations, Mer" Christina said while jumping holding Meredith's hands. "Thank You, Christina" she replied. "OMG that ring is so beautiful look, isn't that an Emerald stone. I heard that's a limited one!! He really loves you so much" Christina added. "I know right" she replied with a big smile on her face.
"Excuse me Ladies, dinner is ready" Derek interrupts them. He stood next to Meredith and gives her a soft kiss on her cheeks. "Hi!! My love!!" Meredith replied and kissed Derek on his lips. "Ewww!!!" Christina said in an awful face. They all laughed because of Christina's reaction on them kissing each other in front of her. "Oh, c'mon Christina, it's not first you saw us kissed each other." Meredith exclaimed. "Let's go, dinner's waiting for us." Derek interrupts. Christina walked first, then Meredith and Derek followed her while holding each other's hands.
"Wow!! You cooked for us?" Christina said in an amazed tone. "Of course, anything for my Lady's best friend." he replied while looking at Meredith. "C'mon let's eat, I'm starving" Meredith said.
They sat down together at the round table and started eating. They talked about different things while eating. They talked about the success of Derek's company, they also talked about the time Meredith and Christina almost missed their final exams because Christina hilariously lost her shoe. The table was filled with laughter while the three of them are eating. Moments later they finished their dinner.
Derek took 3 glasses of champagne, giving it to Meredith and Christina, the other one for him. Christina raised her glass, "Congrats to the both of you, congrats to your engagement!!"Christina said while sobbing. "Cheers!!" Meredith screamed. Derek raised his glass and bumped it to Meredith and Christina's glass. They drank their glass of champagne together.
Derek's phone started ringing, "Gotta take this, it's Mr. Webber" he stands up showing his phone to Meredith then he walked outside.
"You know, I'm really happy for you Mer" Christina said while trying not to cry. "Oh, C'mon Christina why are you crying??" She replied with a smile on her face. "I'm crying because my twisted sister is getting married!!" Christina's face turned red then she started crying. "I can't believe you've made it this far, just a few years ago you're crying every day because Andrew left" Christina added. Meredith's facial expression started to change, a glimpse of sadness started to form on her sparkly eyes. "Oh, I'm sorry for bringing him up. I, I uhm I didn't mean it." Christina said looking at Meredith's eyes. "Don't worry, it's alright. I've moved on" she said and hugged her again while trying her best to form a smile on her face.
A few hours later......
"You brought her home, safely?" Meredith asked after opening the front door of the house for Derek. "Yeah, her mother was there when we got to her house. Her mother thought I was her boyfriend HAHAHAHAHAHA" Derek replied while laughing. "What'd you say?" Meredith asked. "You wanna know?" Derek replied. Meredith looked at him. "Well, I said I am her best friend's husband." Derek said "Husband??" Meredith asked while laughing. "But we're not yet married HAHAHAHAHA" Meredith said while smiling. Derek picked her up and started spinning her around. Meredith squeals when Derek picked her up. "Oh yes we're getting married within a few months so technically it's just the same" he said while putting her down.
Meredith hugged him tightly while whispering "I love You!!" He smiled and replied,"I Love You more!!" . Derek leaned closer and softly kissed her on the lips. He pulled away for some air. "Let's go to bed, we have to wake up early tomorrow, I'll introduce you and the other employees to the newly hired Team Leader" he said. "Newly hired?" Meredith asked. "Yeah, I hired him yesterday, I'll introduce him to you and to other staffs tomorrow" he replied confidently. "Okay" Meredith replied calmly.
They went upstairs and changed into their pyjamas. They lay down on the bed together. He hugged her and kissed her good night. She did the same to him. They closed each other's eyes and fell asleep.

Okay, so in this chapter i focused on Derek and Meredith's relationship. Andrew is not home yet. And you'll find out who's the newly hired Team Leader on the next chapter
