Behind These Walls

Morning in New York has a lot of difference with Seattle. The city's wide awake 24/7. Meredith woke up at 6 am, it's currently 9 am and she's preparing for their meeting. Andrew who's nextdoor, is also doing the same thing.

At 10 am, they met each other at the lobby. "Hey, Good Morning" Andrew greeted. "Morning!!" she replied shortly. He hands her a cup coffee. "Thanks!" she said. They walked put of the hotel holding their papers for presentation. They took a cab to the place where they will meet the client.

They walked inside a luxurious restaurant, they saw the client sitting on the corner with her husband. They walked into them and greeted them. The Lady stood up and hug them, then they all sat. "Good Morning, so you must be Andrew Deluca? And you're Meredith Grey?" the lady asked. "Yes we are" they both replied. "It is really a pleasure to meet you Ma'am Catherine Fox" Meredith greeted. "Oh, let me introduce you to my husband, Richard Webber" Catherine replied. "It is a pleasure to meet you both" Richard greeted then he shake hands with them.

They talked about the project, for almost 2 hours. "Well, I guess this is already a deal" Catherine said. They all nod and give each others wide smile. "We are so happy that you accepted the proposal ma'am" Andrew said. "We are more than happy!!" Richard replied.

After a few minutes, Catherine Fox and Richard Webber went out. Andrew and Meredith were left inside the restaurant. They sat there for a few moments, then they walked outside.

It's almost 1 pm when they ended the meeting. They were walking down the streets of New York when a car stopped infront of them, it was Catherine Fox. She was inviting them for a party later. "So are you coming?" Catherine asked. They looked at each other then they both said yes. "Oh yeah, we're coming ma'am" Meredith replied smiling. "Dress well, okay? We'll dance later" Catherine replied. Andrew smiled, then the car went away.

Meredith remembered that she did not bring any extra dress. Andrew suggested for them to look at a boutique there. They walked around New York and saw a boutique. They walked in and Meredith look for something good to wear later at the party.

"What about this?" she showed him a backless lacy silky black dress. "Ohh, no that's too revealing" he smirked. "Oh yeah, I'm sure i won't be comfortable in this dress" she replied. She looked for another dress. "This or this" she asked holding two dresses on each of her hands. "Ahh, none of them, the colors makes you look like a grandma" he said shaking his head. "Ughhhh, let's look for another one" she said. After a few moments looking for something to wear. Andrew showed her a dress, "How about you try this?" he said handling her the dress. "Okay!" she replied smiling then she walked into the fitting room.

After a few minutes she stood infront of Andrew. He was mesmerized by her, he didn't even look at the dress because he's looking at her. She was wearing a black dress with a slit, the slit isn't that high just perfect for her body. The upper part of the dress slightly revealed her chest.
"Perfect!!" he said smiling. "I know right!!" she replied happily. She goes back to the fitting room and take off the dress. They bought it and then they went back to the hotel.

"Heyy, I'll pick you up later, okay?" he said. "Oh yeah, HAHAHAHA you're just nextdoor" she chuckles. They both laugh and then they went inside.

Meredith prepared for the party later, she had her hair and hair make-up done. She's already wearing the dress. She walked out of the door and saw Andrew standing in front of her door step. "Hey!" she greeted but he did not answer. He's looking straight at her, his eyes are glued at her. "Andrew, you okay?" she asked confusedly. "Oh I'm fine, it's just that you look amazing" he said smiling. Oh, thanks. "You look amazing too"she replied.

They walked down the hotel. A black luxurious car is waiting for them outside. He opened the door for her then she gets in. He went to the other door and get in.

At the party....
Everyone is talking, holding a glass of wine on their hands. Meredith and Andrew walks in. Catherine welcomed them and introduced them to other people in there. They could see couples holding each other's hands. Andrew felt sadness crept inside his heart, he's wishing that he could hold her hands, but he can't. He watches as she take a sip on her wine. He watched him as she smiles.

A romantic music started playing, everyone gathered at the center and started dancing. "May I?" Andrew said asking for her hands so that they could dance. She gave him her hands and then they danced in there. "I think I've seen this before?" Meredith said as they were dancing. He smiled at her and then they continue dancing.

He looked at her eyes, and he got lost in it. The lights flashing trough her face making him week to the knees. He felt like everything was in slow motion. She smiled at him, and then he felt butterflies on his stomach.

He wished that they could stay like that forever. He doesn't want the music to end, he wants them to dance forever. He wants to hold her in his arms forever. He's willing to give up anything just for them to remain like that forever.

She looked at him smiling, he got lost in it again. This time he said something, "I still love you, Meredith" he said all of a sudden. She immediately pulled away. "Andrew, what are you saying?" she asked. "I still love you" he repeated.

Meredith got shocked, she did not let him talk again. She ran away. Andrew followed her. "Mer, Meredith!" he shouted while trying to catch her. He pulled her into an empty hallway.

"Meredith, I love you, I still love you!" he said pinning her on the wall. "Andrew, we talked about this" she said trying to push him away. "You said you've moved on" she asked. "I lied, okay. I lied" he said looking at her. "Andrew, I'm getting married, please get off of me" she added still trying to push him away. "But do you really love him?" he asked. "What kind of question is that?" she replied. He pinned her again on the wall. "Look at me in the eyes and tell me that you don't love me anymore, look at me straightly and tell me that it's him that you want not me. Look at me, tell me!" he said. She's not looking at him. "See you can't, because you still love me" he added. Before he could form another sentence, Meredith looked at him straightly on the eyes. "I don't love you, it's Derek that I want not you. I don't love you, Andrew. I don't" she said fiercely. "I don't believe you" he said. "Then don't, I don't care!!" she replied angrily.

He let her go. She looked at him again and then she ran away holding her dress. Andrew was left alone standing at the hallway. Tears came streaming down his cheeks, he doesn't believe with every word that she said, but somehow it still hurt him. He wiped his tears away.

Meredith kept running down the building. She took a cab and went back to the hotel. She walked at her room. She locked the doors and sat on the floor her back facing the stone cold wall. She rests her back there, then she heard a knock on her door. "Meredith, please I'm sorry" Andrew said. "Go away Andrew please" she replied. Tears came streaming down her cheeks, she rests her back on the wall crying.

Andrew walked inside his room he sat on the floor his back also facing the wall, they're behind each other's wall. He cried silently. He lost it, he knows he lost her again this time. He kept telling himself that there's no way that they will ever be couple again. He bowed his head and cried silently.

She still crying, wondering if she really meant all of those words. She wiled her tears away and stand up, she opened her door and stepped out of her doorstep.

He's still crying when he heard a knock. He did not mind it, he did not move. The knock becomes louder so he stand up this time. He opened the door and was surprised when he saw her standing at his doorstep wiping her tears away. He can't move, he doesn't know what to do. She looked at him, she leaned closer to him.
