Almost A Love Story

The Incident

They were arguing when they heard someone scream. "There's a fire!" someone screamed from the inside. Then the smoke started to fill the entire yacht. Meredith was about to run but they heard a load something explode. Andrew quickly grabbed her and covered her when something exploded again.

The whole yacht was filled with screams. Meredith was about to run to go find Derek and Christina but Andrew stopped her. They heard another explosion. The water started to fill the entire yacht.
They had no other choice but to jump on the ocean. He took her hands and hold it really tight.

"In the count of 3 we're going to jump together, okay?" he said holding her hands tighter. She nods. "1, 2, 3" he shouted. After the count of 3 he grabbed her and they jumped together. They fell on the deep and freezing water. They swam up, they both gasped for air. They kept their head above water. Finding each other in the dark night on the middle of the ocean. She could see the fire slowly eating the whole yacht.

"Derek!! Christina!!" she screamed. "Jo!! Alex!!" he also screamed. They heard no answer. Tears started streaming down her freezing cheeks. She tried to swim to the yacht's direction but Andrew stopped her. "It's too dangerous there, we should swam on the other side" he said grabbing her on her waist. He swim on the other side of the sea still grabbing Meredith making sure she won't go away.

They reached the seashore. Andrew laid down on the sand exhausted. The silence of the cruel night and the sound of the huge waves on the ocean terrified Meredith. She thought about Derek and the other staffs in there. She started crying. Andrew heard him so he stand up and come closer to her. He sat infront of her and hug her. "Do you think they're still alive?" she asked while crying. "Of course, Mer. For sure Derek will help them" he said trying to comfort her. He hugged her tighter. She could hear his heartbeat while sobbing on his chest.

She pulled away and saw that his arm is bleeding. "Oh My God, you're bleeding!" she panicked. "It's okay, Mer. It's just a minor bruise" he said. "But we have to put pressure to stop it from bleeding" she said worriedly. Without saying any word Andrew took off his shirt and use it to wrap on his bruise. He can't tie it so he asked her to do it. "Okay" she agreed then she tied the shirt on his arm tight. "Ouch" he complained. "Oh, Sorry" she replied shyly. She finish tying the shirt then she pulled away. She looked around, it was so dark and the only source of light are the stars and the moon.

She looked on the ocean, she couldn't see the burning yacht anymore. She wondered if they make it alive. No one else is here besides her and Andrew. She was mad at him but he still helped and saved her. He's bleeding probably because of her. She stood up and walk around trying to find if there's someone or something in there that might help them. She wandered around the shore but she didn't find anything.

When she came back to where she left Andrew. She found him asleep. She could see his masculine chest rising when he is breathing. She sat next to him, not too close, not too far just one step away from him.

On the other hand, Derek and the other employees made it alive. The rescuers came immediately and helped them. They were checking each other when Derek noticed that Meredith isn't on the rescue boat. They reached the shore, he looked for Christina and told her that Meredith is missing. Christina panicked she ran to the rescuers and told them that her best friend is still in the middle of the ocean. "I'm sorry ma'am, but it's too late and the waves are too huge. We can't go back there anymore, we will continue the rescue tomorrow morning" the rescuer said.
Derek came running, "Andrew, Andrew is also missing" he said. "OH MY GOD!!" Christina exclaimed. Derek is worrying too much, he wanted to go back to the sea to find Meredith bit he can't because the waves are too big. "I'm sure she's fine, she's with Andrew. He's a good guy, he will save her" Christina said tapping Derek's back. "But what if they're not together, what if Meredith is alone?" Derek said worriedly. "I know Meredith, she's a fighter. She's okay, she's gonna survive this" Christina said proudly.

Meredith noticed that Andrew is moving. She looked at him, she saw him sat next to her. They both stared at the ocean hopeless. Then Andrew speak all of a sudden. "I really am sorry Mer, I'm sorry for leaving you. I'm sorry for not fighting for us" he said trying to hold back tears. She's not saying anything. "I never intended to leave you, I never wanted to hurt-" before he could finish his sentence she stopped him. "Why did you stop calling?" she asked then she looked at him. "I-I-uhm" he can't form any words.
"Do you know how hard it is to welcome every morning without you? Do you know how hard it is to drink coffee alone because I used to do it with you?" she said also trying to hold back her tears.
"I'm sorry, Mer. I never meant to do all of those to you" he said then tears came streaming down his face.
"You used to be my knight in shining armor, my saviour when I'm having my battles. You used to protect me from the monsters who attacks me in the middle of the night. I wanted to tell you everything that is hurting me even though you're one of them" she said still holding back her tears. "I'm sorry for being such an ass and leaving you all of a sudden" he said again.
"I just wished you stayed a little longer and fight for us, but you gave up" she replied then tears came streaming down her cheeks.

She sobbed and bowed her head. She covered her face. Andrew come closer to her. He hugged her, in his surprised she hugged him back. She's sobbing on his bare chest. "I'm sorry, Meredith. I promise I'll never leave you again" he said. She continued sobbing on his chest. In just a little while she fell asleep on his arms.

The sunlight hit her delicate skin. She opened her eyes and realized she's been sleeping on Andrew's embrace. She immediately pulled away. She sit up at stare at him. "Why isn't he waking up?" she asked herself. "Andrew? Andrew?" she shake his body and noticed that his arm is bleeding again.
She touched his forehead, "he's got a fever" she panicked.

She looked at the ocean and noticed that two boats are coming. She waved her hand screaming for help.

The boat came, it was Derek and the rescuers. Meredith quickly ran to him ang hugged him. "Oh, Thank God, you're alive" Derek said then he hug and kisses her softly. Meredith started crying.
"An-Andrew, go help Andrew please!!" she said pointing Andrew who is still laying down on the sand.
The rescuers put him on the stretcher and brought him to the boat.

While Meredith and Derek was on the boat, he asked her what happened. "He saved me, he's bleeding because of me. I'm probably dead by now but he saved me" those are the only words that came out of her mouth. She cried so Derek hugged her.

They reached the shore, they put Andrew in an ambulance. The rescuer said he's fine. He just need to go see a doctor.
Christina came running and hugged Meredith. "Oh, You're alive!!" she screamed then she hugged her tight.

Meredith stared at the ocean once more, she thought about what happened last night. Andrew saved her. They get to talk. Her mind is battling if she's ready to forgive him. She looked away and then they walked inside.

I highlighted Andrew and Meredith's conversations because those were really amazing words, especially Meredith's speech.Wattpad deleted all my drafts so i have to rewrite this one, but i love how it turned out. Hope you like it. Love You!!! Don't forget to vote♡︎
