Kasandra recounts
Nine years ago...The day turned out to be a beautiful summer one I was in Central Park with Aunt Emma and Uncle Michael sitting in the shade of a tree. Uncle Michael was reading (most likely something about the dwarves) and Aunt Emma and I were trying to guess the shapes of the clouds.
” That's a rabbit.” I say pointing fingers.
The aunt didn't seem too convinced.
” Are you sure? To me it seems to be a dog.”
I roll my eyes. Aunt Emma isn't very good at it. I started to get bored and I look around and then I see something moving in a bush farther away from us, standing up. When I get there I hear a meow give the branches I see the cutest cat in the world had white fur and a bushy tail and blue eyes open just like the collar she had around her neck.
The cat mischievous once more, and then I realize what bothers her on her right paw has a scratch, I think it hurts quite badly. I reach out my hand gently towards her.” Hi, pisi.” She analyzes my hand with prying eyes rubs the tick against my hand. I want to help her so I use my magic and to my luck the cat does not get scared. I learned some healing magic. The magic thread detaches from my fingers, and the magic does its job and the wound gradually closes. I made it!
The cat gets closer to me and I take her in my arms and turn back to see my mother.
” How did you lose the child?”
When I hear it, I realize that I've strayed a bit far from them.
” She was here, and then she wasn't anymore.” Said Aunt Emma.
"Mom."
My mother turns her attention to me and begins to relax.
” Kasandra, why did you leave without saying anything?”
I stretch the kitten in front of my mother.
” She had a wound and I healed her. I just wanted to help her.” The mother reaches out her hand and the cat still wants to get into the mother's arms.
” You did a good thing.” Mom puts her hand on the medallion hanging on the cat collar. ”Seraphina, apparently it's someone's.”
Mom turns the medallion around and finds an address.
I was in the car and Seraphina had fallen asleep at my feet. My mother stops the car and I see a nice house reminded me of our house, white fence, garden. I pick up Seraphina and get out of the car when we get to the door and knock. The door opens and three people appear on the threshold the man has blue eyes, and the black hair woman between the two of them is a little girl my age with black hair and blue eyes. When I see her I grieve I see that she cried recently and when she sees the cat in my arms she practically pulls her out of my arms.” I thought I wasn't going to find you anymore.”
Her parents smile when they see her. The man reaches out his hand to my mother.” Zack Smith, a pleasure to meet you.” He points to the woman next to him. ” She's my wife Ariana,” then points to the little girl,” and she's our daughter Zoey.”
Zoey completely ignores us by focusing only on Seraphina.
” She cried all night after Seraphina. Thanks.”Mr. and Mrs. Smith invite us inside the whole house is studded with open boxes.
” We just moved to New York a week ago, we're still unpacking.” Said Mrs. Smith.
They lead us into the kitchen and Mrs. Smith brings us lemonade to thank us, Zoey doesn't drink her lemonade just keeps Seraphina, I think she's afraid of losing her again. My attention is distracted when a voice is heard from the kitchen door.
