Kasandra recounts

Everything around me was just blood, and death I felt like I was suffocating. My heart was beating too fast, I could feel my chest pounding. It was too much. Too much pressure. Too much noise.

I can't anymore. I can't anymore.

STOP!

Then I hear nothing. It was...quiet.

I open my eyes to see how the whole world has frozen around me.

I...I stopped time.

" Kasandra!"

I see Eric running towards me. All I know after that is his kiss.

" I could live forever in this moment," I tell him.

" It's absolutely perfect," he says.

A few more moments pass, or something that seems to be a few moments, in which we hold each other in our arms.

" How did you do it? I mean the power of Atlas..."

I reveal the rose-engraved gold medallion that glittered around my neck.

" The key to winning a fight is to always have an ace up your sleeve, that's what Uncle Derek taught me. I put the power of the Books of the Beginning into the locket, and now I can use them as I please."

Or somehow.. I was hasty with the conclusions, the power of the Atlas felt its power. I couldn't handle time anymore.

Eric is holding my hand.

" It's ok, I'm with you."

Then I let time take its course. The sound of battle is all around me again, but this time at least I'm not alone.

" I need your help, transform into a dargon and fly over the island. I have an idea."

In a few minutes I am above the island where I can see everything. One last trick. I touch the locket and feel the power of the Books of the Beginning return much stronger than before and the light surrounding me until the raven, the phoenix and the dragon appear.

" Destroy the enemies and defend the island! I give them an order and watch as the three sprites approach Dire Magnus's army."

No one can stand against the power of the Books of the Beginning, not even Dire Magnus, in less than a few minutes his entire army disappears destroyed by the power of the Books and the three spirits return to the locket where they belong.

I feel like I can breathe again. We won, we really won.

You really think my goal was to destroy the Loris? No Kasandra, I really won something more important than a fight.

That voice. Dad, he just didn't mean...mom.

Where is she?

Safe with me, and now we're waiting for you too. It's time to be a family.

We've always been a family, but you chose something else.

Kasandra, I don't want to fight. Come. You know as well as I do that this is the only valid solution.

My mother was the perfect bait to lure me there, and if I came there...I touch the locket again. It was risky. I was basically giving her all the power on a silver platter, but I'm not going to let my mom go through this alone. It was just the two of us against the whole world.

" Eric, go and regroup the army. I have some family business to deal with."

He was about to protest, but I cut him off.

" Trust me, please."

I use the power of the Atlas to reach the council chamber of the citadel.

" Mom!"

I run to her she was exhausted from the fight but other than that she was fine. She hugs me and my hands stroke his hair.

" You are so strong and brave. You won. You found within yourself the strength and love you needed. I'm incredibly proud of you."

" What can I say, I am my mother's daughter. "

Then I look at dad who was next to us.

" I hope you are happy now."

He just smiles at me.

" I'm more than that, I'm proud of you for fooling me that the power was gone when it was right under my nose, managing to control the power and then destroying an entire army...absolutely brilliant, but now we have other priorities."

Mom pulls me away from him.

" You don't lay your hands on her, or on the Books of the Beginning."

" Mom is fine."

She looked at me as if he wanted to contradict me.

Trust me.

I had placed the locket in his hand.

" I hope you will find what you are looking for in the locket, father."

He opened the locket, and a bright light had knocked him to the ground.

As I said earlier, you always have to have an ace up your sleeve, and this time I made the most of it, I put in the locket all the memories I had with my mother from childhood until now. Uncle Derek had told me that love is a flame in your soul that brings light with it, and with that light Dad will chase away the darkness in his soul. Once and for all.

And he had actually succeeded the shadow that had been hanging on him had come out of his body, and a portal to the world of the dead opened in front of us and the shadow is thrown there, then the portal closes.

He succeeded. Dad really made it. He won the fight.

Dad stands up and then I see in him the person I knew at the beginning. I run towards him.

" Daddy."

He hugs me and whispers in my ear.

" Thanks for all the memories. Thank you for showing me the way back to the light, to you two."

" I love you, daddy."

" Me too."

Mom joins our hug.

We were finally a family.
