Kasandra recounts

The situation was not good at all, my father was staring at us and we were staring at him, and Eric was not helping me at all, in fact he was not saying anything, he was smiling at my father as he had done at breakfast when he said he was my boyfriend.  Was my father going to kill him? There were signs on his face that it was a possibility.  I needed a saving angel.

My attention is distracted by a hand that I know very well as my mother's. When my father returns, he seems surprised to see her, he was as amazed as I was. I don't know what my mother was looking for here. The only thing I knew was that she is my savior angel.

" How about we go out?" Mother's voice is heard over the music.

Before I leave the club, I look for Zoey who was  at a table. I think she was waiting for Aiden to bring her something to drink, but it seems she's laughing.

Outside, my mom, dad and Eric are a few blocks away so we can talk quietly away from the noise, we find such a place between two buildings away from the hustle and bustle of New York. Nobody says anything for a few minutes Dad just looks at Eric badly, but it doesn't seem to affect him. My mother and I look at each other until my mother finally decides to speak.

" So can anyone explain to me what's going on here?"

Dad is ready to say something, but I'll take it first.

" We're just having fun too. Nothing bad happened."

Dad frowns when he hears me.

" Kissing him," he says, pointing to Eric,"does it mean having fun?"

My mother doesn't seem at all surprised when she hears the news, as if she was expecting it. And what she says next amazes me even more.

" Well, since the evening isn't over yet, what about staying together?"

Even Eric seems to be more attentive to the conversation because he seems surprised.

" Can't you be serious?"Dad asks her.

My mother had addressed Eric.

" Take care of her. Ok?

Eric just smiled at her.

" I promise."

Dad looked at Mom, then at Eric, and finally at me. And maybe the discussion would continue but Eric takes my hand and says goodbye to my parents, I had followed him without comment, not knowing where he was taking me. I turned my head to see my mother and father again. It was something strange with them. I felt a tension between them. I can't hear what they are talking about but I think they are arguing until my mother grabs my father's hand and they both disappear from my visual area. Are they arguing?  And if it's really the way I think it is, I hope they will solve their problems, maybe it's good for them to be alone for a while.

Rafe recounts

I'm in the car with Kate behind who drives  and I'm looking out the window but I'm not paying attention to what I'm looking at because I'm thinking about our discussion earlier.

" Why did you leave her with him?"

Kate rolls her eyes.

" Because we need to clear up some...misunderstandings."

Then she holds out her hand and only then do I notice the regret in her eyes.  She thought I was upset with her for what she had told me but I wasn't upset, on the contrary I was grateful because she had told me now I understood some things I didn't understand at first. And now I had to fix that.

When the car stops, I realize that we are in front of a hotel. I think the hotel has about eight floors and when I go down I notice more details such as the white walls of the building, the marble pavement I walk with Kate and around us there is grass and bushes full of strong smelling flowers plus light bulbs on the edge. We reached a glass door that opened automatically and the elegance with which the reception was made everything was golden, from the floor to the walls, a huge crystal chandelier was hanging from the ceiling, and the black sofas were all around. I hear Kate say something to the receptionist and take a silver key and we get on the elevator.
