Kadota leaned against the van reading A Certain Magical Index, while Saburo listened to some song on the radio. The singer was clearly Ruri, and Saburo looked as if he was in a trance listening to a siren's spell. Kadota saw this and rolled his eyes. He wondered if his love struck friend would ever find a woman he actually had a chance with. Suddenly he heard yelling and looked up seeing Walker and Erika running at the van looking terrified.
"Don't tell me Deadwolv is after you guys again!?" He yelled at them. "No a ghost!" Erika and Walker said in unison. Kadota's face changed from worry, to annoyed. "Seriously guys? I told you to not over do the horror manga." He muttered ignoring them. The two grabbed onto him hugging him tight like scared children. "No really! We walked by an alley and heard something. We looked inside and saw a ghost!" Walker claimed. "Oh okay. And which one? Kuchisake Onna? Teke~Teke? Or Hachishakusama?" Kadota asked, used to his friends imagining things.
"Masaomi Kida!" Erika blurted out. Kadota paused then looked at her with a look of surprise. Then almost slight anger. "Not funny. You shouldn't make fun of that poor kid." He said, disappointed his friends would actually mock Masaomi's death. "Dota-chin! We're not making it up! We saw him. He was in the alley and glared at us. He looked so scary and mad. And was covered in blood!" Erika pleaded with her friend to believe her.
Kadota sighed. "Fine. I'll go to the alley with you and prove his ghost is not there. Then you two will apologize for making fun of him. Got it?" Kadota said. The two nodded, though looked nervous. As they led their friend to the alley the two began to discuss their opinions on Masaomi being a ghost. "So why would he be a ghost?" Walker questioned. "Simple. He died too young and violently. So he is stuck here. You know. Like Sadako from Ringu." Erika explained. "Ah so he is an Onryo, and may curse us?" Walker questioned. Meanwhile Kadota rolled his eyes listening to his friends. He was beginning to wonder if maybe they actually did see something. But he doubted it was an actual ghost. Let alone Masaomi.
They reached the alley and looked around. "See? No ghosts. Now lets just go and forget about it." He said gesturing to the fact there was no ghosts. Though he did notice something. The cement of the alley was covered in a brownish red stain. Clearly blood, which someone tried washing. But, that isn't too uncommon in the darker parts of the city to find blood stains. "Besides. If Masaomi was a ghost, why would he be haunting some alley?" Kaota asked.
"Simple. Cause it's the alley I died in." An all too familiar voice said. Kadota's heart nearly stopped as he heard this. Erika and Walker clung to Kadota trembling with fear. The group looked around not seeing anything at first. Then noticed Masaomi standing on a fire escape above them. "Ma, Masaomi..." Kadota stuttered in shock seeing the young yellow scarf. Like his friends had said, the teen was covered in blood. And had a look of anger in his eyes.
Masaomi jumped off the fire escape, and slowly almost as if floating, landed on the ground below. "The real question is why are you guys lurking in an alley at night. Aren't you worried Deadwolv may attack you? Or even a vampire. Or..." He had an odd look on his face. "An angry ghost might kill you?" As he said that Erika hid behind Kadota, shrieking in fear. Kadota frowned seeing Masaomi like this. "He's gonna kill us!" Walker gasped.
Masaomi sighed looking down. "Just leave. I ain't in the killing mood right now." He said turning to leave the three behind. Masaomi had been struggling to control his rage ever since he died. He had already almost attacked Mikado once, and almost killed a random pedestrian the other night. Fighting the urge to kill was hard. But, he didn't want to be a monster. Even though he suffered greatly and was dead now, he didn't want to hurt others.
Kadota noticed how Masaomi went from angry, to melancholic. And he began to pity the ghost. "Is, there anything we can do to help you?" He asked. "Eh?!" Walker and Erika looked at him wondering why he wanted to help a killer ghost. "Not much you can do to help the dead." Masaomi responded, before vanishing. Kadota looked down frowning. Erika and Walker were still scared. Though also were beginning to realize how much Masaomi must be suffering.
